For years I've thought the "Holy Grail" of the EPA is a legal way to ban all vehicles built before a certain date from being operated. The new CO2 regulation mandate might finally be the tool they can use.

ok i will add my . 02, diesel exhuast does contain cancer causing compounds and over time and repeated exposure you will get the cancer and possiblly die. it does not matter which engine, cat, cummins, ih, mercedeze. they all produce the compounds maybe different levels due to types of emmition control systems



i work the the FD, it is documented about diesel exhaust, we have an exhaust evacuation system in our bays hooked up the pipe it pulls off when we pull out on a run.



i know fellas that are dieing right now becasue they and their bosses did not think that you could get sick or die.



i am not here to fire up everyone nor do i know where the research source was, poeple to tend to overstate at times, but taking a toke from the smoke pipe aint the best thing to do... ... ...

In some ways, that is just about to become a reality. California is going to start doing just that, banning big rigs built before a certain year from operating in the state. And as years go by they will ban progressively newer years. By 2020 in order to operate a commercial vehicle in Calif. your big truck can't be any older than 2004.



One has to wonder how long it will be before they ban older diesel pickups also.



Don't feel safe if you live outside California either because we all know that the rest of the country will eventually follow suit.



I feel certain that the environmentalists in California will eventually lead to the downfall of this country.



By the way, if I've offended anyone I am sorry, the only people I intended to offend were the environmentalists. I'm just flat tired of a small group of individuals imposing their misguided and warped views upon the rest of us. They are making it much more difficult for some of us to put food on our tables and take care of our families.
