currency conversion question

I am trying to find out what $29,000 in candian dollars would be in U. S. dollars, I am looking at excavators and seen one in Ontario, Canada for $29,000 canadian. I just dont know what that would be in US dollars.

Make it clear that you are buying the excavator for use on your farm. There is no duty on Ag equipment.

Duty Drawback

If the excavator was made in the US and is being returned to the US you may be able to recover the Canadian duty paid on it by the original purchaser. You can also get back the Canadian duty if it was made in another country, if you ship it out of Canada. It would well be worth your while to talk to a customs broker about this. C J Tower would be a good broker to talk to, they have an office at each border crossing, we use them to clear our shipments to the US. When I worked for Volvo's automation division, we used sell many of our press automation products already landed in the US. Volvo would give a trade in allowance on old equipment and return it to Canada to get the duty back and then scrap it.
