I have been having thinking about bumping up the timing here recently anyway. I had it done at Scheids when I first got the truck and since then have added more mods. The biggest thing that I have noticed is that it is taking longer to start than after I had iniatially had the timing moved up.
Interesting that you mention it is harder to peg your EGT's. I installed a Isspro 0-1800 Pyro when had the new turbo installed and it failed . Scheid warrantied it and gave my a 0-1500 because they had no 0-1800 in stock. Now the truck seems a to be running slightly higher temperatures, I asked them and they did not seemed concerned but it bothers me. They assume it is just a different calibration with the different gauge. Will timing help if infact I am running hotter than normal? I havent had it above 1300 or so since I installed the Snow system, but normal driving seems to be warmer than it should. What would be a good setting for my setup?
Sorry for rambling on.
