Tacoma dyno confirmation for Feb

What a Novel idea TDK.

My Mom wanted to take her own truck ('01 Lincoln Navigator),

My Dad said it would be to much $$ to take two trucks, but Mom ain't gonna go all the way to Dallas in my truck, and then just to hang around a bunch of Diesel guys BS'ing, and Dyno'ing.

Dad might be interested in bringing his truck up there.

I asked him again today if I could go and he said "NO", but then I caught him mumbling to himself about going and, I caught him on yahoo.com looking at maps to see how far it is from here to Dallas.

We might go. I'll bring up the idea about taking his own truck and slappin' it on the dyno, He has 32,000+ miles pulling a 25,000Pound Gooseneck trailer. It's a 2001 Chevy 3500 2wd Duramax/Allison Ext. Cab Dually, Long Bed.

Still workin' on goin'. I want to go, but It seems like he says it's "Too Far" to go,, but then he wants to go to Big Bend National Park, etc. etc. , and everywhere else... .

P. S. My Dad says If I take my truck and run it on the dyno it's gonna break, he said that everyone he knows who took their car to a dyno broke their car. . so that's one reason why he doesn't want me to go also. (I drive my truck harder on the street than a dyno could every simulate... , Oh well)

My friend at work will be showing up in his Chevy gasser. He is in the process of installing nitrous so hopefully he'll be able to show "decent" HP/torque numbers.

Charles

Not that it concerns me. . but anyone know how wide the rollers are. . Just wondering about the 3500's. . Are they going to have to remove the out side set of wheels?? (No big deal. . justing wondering. . )

Bryan

I just let my wheels hang over. I have made about 15 runs on this dyno and never had a trouble.

I just got a message from two more Ford guys... they are bringing two more trucks up now. Looks like we are closing in on 25 for the rollers. Its gonna be a busy day.

I need a hand....

I need a hand in putting a turnbuckle on my little old HY-35. I have tried to do it 3 times, but everytime it has come off on the first "test" ride.

I am tighting the line pressure tommorw on the transmission, gotta get ready. :D

Andrew

Hey TxDieselKid,

Dont you have a comp box or something on that rig? What kinda boost are you running now?

Don~

What are you talking about.......

Don,

Me? BOMBed? Never!!!;) Yes I have a COMP with out the pump wire hooked up. As for boost, who knows, I am still waiting to see the new MARKII's from SPA.

Wish I could afford some spa's. Those babies are too spendy for and old fart like me on a pension.

Im glad you are able to make it up for the event.

Dyno day

I guess I'm going to have to come down to see what this is all about, I won't dyno though cause I can't afford to trash the stock converter, If you guys are starting at 9 then I better get up early cause it a 3 hour drive from OKC.

Jim

My Dad, Me, and my Little brother (9yr old) wil be there for the dyno run.

I'm guessing to show 375RWHP, we'll see what we can do.

Anybody going to be taking a video camera?

Maybe I can sneek in a burnout for you guys. :D As long as I don't break anything, it would be my pleasure :D :D (I've done it before a couple dozen times... :D)

Anyway, see yall there.

P. S. PM me or e-mail me at -- email address removed -- if you want my cell # to call me. I'm leaving Laredo early tomorow sometime.

Directions to the D/FW dyno event:

From South of Dallas (like from Waco area) come straight up 35 past Dallas to the business 121 exit. Turn right (East) on business 121. Follow for about 3 miles or so and look for Holfords Praire Rd. Turn right at Holfords Prairie Rd and follow about 1/2 mile or so to Speedworks on the right hand side.

Speedworks is North of Dallas about 15 miles up 35. You southern boys will have to ride along 35 through Dallas for quite awile before breaking out and making it up to Lewisville and the 121 business exit.

Don~

I will be there... ... . let me know if you need help or if I should bring anything besides my truck. (I live about 15 minutes away from the dyno site. )

Thanks.

Okay, I've made a liar out of myself.

I'm not gonna be able to make it Boy I'm bummed. I've talked to my Dad about it, and it seems like we may be able to make it to the Munci Event, or the even the Event in Las Vegas. Me and my Dad have agreed that the dyno is just to far from our house to be able to make it, their are dyno's in San Antonio and I may take my truck there one day,, sorry 'bout it guys, I can't afford to drive all the way to Dallas this week. Next week yes, but not this week.

Yall have fun, get some pictures post 'em up here on th TDR galleries, or E-Mail them to me and I'll put them on my webpage/server.

Bummed out in Laredo,

MerrickNJr

P. S. I WANT TO SEE SOME NUMBERS GUYS, :p

MCummings,

Your not a liar. You just cant make it, thats all. Sorry you and your family could not make it to the event. I do understand the drive is very long and hard for a 1 day deal. If you guys make it to Vegas, let me know, I will be around then.

Don~

Merrick is a lier...!

Just kidding bud. Too bad you can't make it, just one more person that wont be over my head in the numbers. :D I think you are just chicken:p ;)

See ya next trip!

Andrew

P. S. I am sending you a PM

Just heard, wish I could make it!

I just heard about ya'lls D-day in D-town. Too late to make it. I hope there is another one on the drawing board. Please post some hp #s, I would love to know what mine is puttin' out. :)

I was there!

... and it was cool. My ETH/DEE with 275s did 227/549 in 5th. Hats off to all those that helped put this together and thanks to all who came out. It was nice to have some guys from the far side come out as well, they just need to get off the drugs. We should make this a yearly thing that way we have an event in late summer early fall like the rallies we've had down south and then later in the winter a dyno day. That way its not so long between get togethers. I really enjoyed it. We should cook out on our next dyno day and if we have the phraud guys there we wouldn't have to worry about running out of propane.

Darren

This was my first

I echo Darren's post. Thanks to all that set this up. I had a great time. Man there were a lot of diesels. Also thanks to Speedworks of Lewisville. Oh and my numbers 373/759.
