I saw my neighbors 2011 1500 dodge hemi p/u today. It has a great set of dash lights in it. My question is; has anyone ever changed the bulbs in the dash to leds? I cant see the dash at night because of macular degeneration and the green dash lights just disappear. Thanks, Moe

I recently changed mine to leds ... ..... You will still have green lights because of the colored plastic overlay built in to the gauges... ..... They will just be brighter. From what I saw, I think that in order to change the color you would need to change the gauge faces themselves.

I purchase all my LEDs from superbrightleds.com and have had very good luck will all their products.

To do a total bulb replacement in your gauge panel, there are 9 bulbs that you can replace... ... L & R turn, High Beam Indicator, Wait to Start, and 5 general gauge lights.

You can just change the bulbs, but you have to do a little "surgery" in order to get the bulbs out and in..... I just replaced the sockets and bulbs as a unit.

High Beam... ... ... . T 1. 5 - BHP ( B=blue )
Wait to Start... ... . T 1. 5 - RHP ( R=red )

Others: (7 Total )
Sockets ... ... ... ... 168/194 (T3 - 1/4) twist lock
Bulbs ... ... ... ... ... WLED - G4 - 90 ( G=green )

If I were going to do it again, which I may, I would use WLED-GHP5 bulbs for the turn indicators and gauges. The reason I would change is because the G4 bulbs have a 90 degree light dispersal while the GHP5s have a 360 degree dispersal... ... I have some areas that are not as bright and I think it is due to the angle... ... cost a little more but I believe they would work better.

The only "tricky" part to doing this is working around the transmission gear indicator. I found that it was easiest to just unhook the small cable from the base of the steering column so that I could get the gauge pod out far enough to get to the two screws that hold the indicator into the pod. I did attach a short piece of wire to the cable so that I could easily "fish" it back through my wires to re-attach it when I re-installed the gauge pod.

While I was doing this I also replaced the bulbs in my Isspro gauges with LEDs... ... ... . much brighter!

Hope this helps..... let me know how you come out, or if you have any other questions.
