I am sure this has already been posted some where, but is there anyway to turn them off? I also have problem with my lights turning off sometimes when I am driving. The truck is a 98 4 valve sport.

Good Day. I just had a problem with my day time running lights(DRL) And it was the fuse for the Back up lights. So if you have a standert you can pull the fuse for the back up lights and that will kill the DRL's. I had lost my DRL's and I replace every thing and could not find the problem and the teck at the dealership told my to check the back up light fuse and that was the problem. So pull it.

On my 01 when the lights stopped working it was the multifunction switch on the collum that was bad. It started out where the lights would go off when I switched between hi and low beam and after a while nothing would come on anymore. I do have DRL's also

Do your back up lights still work?

No you lose the back up lights. But you could put a cable from the Transmission sensor in the cab with a separate fuse. because you will than have your back up lights and no DRL's. Or just put them on a separate switch.
