Oil Leak Fix Question

I had DRL,s on my 93 and thought they were worthwhile. I used a module form JC Whitney made by HAMSAR in Canada.

I want to put them on my 02 but the wiring is different.

Will the Canadian DRL module work on a US truck?

Has anybody tried HAMSAR'S 45055 kit?

I don't want to put anything on that will blow the electronics.

DRL module CANNOT be installed on US Truck's. DC doesn't include the pigtail to allow you to do this. Save's pennies. Search TDR for my post's about rewiring the PDC to create DRL's.

DRL

rclark, i wired DRL on my truck using the JCWhitney unit. i had planned on rewiring my lights anyway, but you'll have to for it to work. DC uses switched ground for switching. i rewired my lights completely with heavier wire, and relays, then added the DRL module. i trigger the module with a pressure switch in the to of the oil filter--ie when the oil pressure is over 8-9# the lights are on. need help, PM me.

JCBROWN, Just curious as to where you found those Hella DuraLED's. I looked at their web site and I like those.

Thank You

Chuck

Wouldn't it just be easier to turn the lights on? I am glad my truck doesn't have them, but I wish more people did have them. I use my lights quite often, but see so many folks (comming from the other way of course) running around at dusk or foggy type days without them on.

DRL's

turning your lights on will accomplish the same thing--BUT some insurance co's give a discount for DRLs. i tried to convince mine that i ALWAYS turn my lights on, but no discount. when i added the DRLs which come on automatically, i got a 5% discount on my collision insurance.
