There were alot of vehicles last year at the port of baltimore that were ruined by a hurricane. I seen them and they were to be scrapped I believe. So this kind of thing does happen. Sounds like Chrysler is doing you right by getting you into a new one. Good luck!
It's not just the body corrision, the saltwater can do nasty things to the electronics. That is why ins. co. 's total out so may flood vehicles both salt AND fresh water, even though it may seem that all it will take is new rugs and a good detailing to repair. Take the new truck and RUN. Be glad they are being pro-active, rather than you having to deal with a nightmare later.

Just out of curiosity my GVW is 12000 lbs on my current truck and the replacement truck "still in shipment" is listed with a GVW rating of 12200 lbs. How are they getting the extra 200 lbs of GVW? Is it gearing?
