I bought a friggin' stick because I had read about certain problems with the Cummins overpowering the automatic and frying the transmission. I thought I was safe, but I was wrong.
Driving home from work this morning, I was cruising at about 65 in 6th, when I heard a loud clunk, lost juice, followed by a high pitched rubbing sound. The sound went away whenever I pushed in the clutch, so I figured that I had fried the clutch. I nursed my baby down to the local Dodge dealer, and took the mechanic for a ride. He said that it was not a clutch problem, but that my 6th gear had fried, needing a replace. I guess that was good news in a way, because at least the transmission is under warranty and the repairs are covered.
I'm pretty bent, and just found out that I'm without wheels for the next five days! So Puff, JNutter, if you see some guy standing on the corner wearing a Cummins hat with his thumb out, how about helping a brother out when he's down on his luck?
