Everytime I lock my truck using the key fob, the batteries are flat within 4 to 8 hours. This problem has developed over the last couple of months. The only way to secure the truck is push down all the lock-knobs,(except the driver's) and manually key lock the driver's door from the outside. If I open the door and then shut off the engine, the batteries will drain the same way. The dealer is clueless, but says the dash power will not shut down when the fob is used??? This truck is an early 2011 3500 RWD laramie dually 350hp 650tq, 68RFE. It has every option except 4WD, Sun-roof, and rear entertainment DVD. It's got 3,400 miles on the clock. I love this truck but I hate this issue! Has anybody else encountered this situation? All help and suggestions appreciated, as I'd like to communacate intelengetly with the dealer! Thanks for looking bob...

I am sorry about your issue, but I would ride that dealers fanny until it got fixed and elevate the complaint to Ram's regional rep if it does not get fixed in real short order...looks like you should still have some warranty left, that makes it a "there problem" to resolve. Otherwise take it to a battery/starter or starter/alternator shop that specializes in electrical problems, have them diagnose the issue then take it to the dealer to fix and have the dealer reimburse you for the diagnosis (assuming you are still under warranty.) If not under warranty just start and finish at the battery/starter or starter/alternator shop.

I had an issue similar to that in my '09. It wasn't a FOB or lock issue, but whatever circuit the radio was controlled by quit going into sleep mode.

After having to jump start a couple times, I disconnected both batteries and charged them individually. I also grounded the POS cable the whole time to reset any memory that could be lingering. My issue went away and hasn't returned for several years now.

The only other option I can think of is to have the ECM flashed.

If it happens every time it should be fairly easy to diagnose. Just need a DVOM with 10A scale and a pair of needle nose to pull fuses one at a time.
