My truck died on me while driving tonight. It's been running great but just before in stopped it was unresponsive to the throttle briefly, after coasting down hill. It did that twice then seemed normal. A few miles later it just quit with good fuel pressure. Seemed like the VP44 might be the culprit but flipping the key only got me a P 0500 code. That's no speed sensor???? Any ideas?

I get 0500 all the time. That is exactly how my VP-44 died two years ago.

Did you pull the codes with your smarty?

Happy new year#@$%!#@$%!

I didn't have the Smarty with me at the time but I did take it to the truck a little while ago. I came up with these in this order. P 0602, 0523, 1693, 0522 & 0500. The 602 & 1693 are normal running CaTcher soft ware. The high & low oil pressure seems strange as I don't recall any odd gauge readings.

oops the key is missing

Here's the data plate from my hot rod pump. It doesn't look like the one in my service manual. Can any one tell me which # is the key #?

He already has one of the best hotrod pumps available from Industrial Injection. He is having trouble with a non hotrod pump thats on his truck now. He just needed to find a key for the hotrod pump which we found here in a box of spare parts that were left behind at my shop on accident.
