My 07 5. 9 started running rough checked codes and po0203 was present which is circuit ploblem #3 injector. Checked front harness beside valve cover looked ok every other pin would pulsate when key was turned on. Then pulled valve cover off and used regular test light to check each injector both eletrical wires while engine was running #3 had one wire that the pulse was slower and not as bright as the other side. The other 5 injectors had the same pulse on both sides of the terminals. Truck is not smoking or getting diesel in the oil but diffently missing. Thinking it could be the injector wiring harness thats under the valve cover. What are your ideas on this. Thanks

A Dodge dealer with a trained and certified Cummins diesel tech can perform an engine performance test which tests the operation of each injector. I believe it is a good and effective test that will provide a definitive answer to your question. Should cost you an hour or two of shop labor time. Well worth the time and expense, IMO.

Could just be the injector solenoid causing the slow pulse, ohm out the solenoid alone and see what it is reading compared to the others.

Make sure the injector is disconnected from the harness first. Check the resistance of the bad one against a known good injector solenoid to see if they are close to the same reading. Then if the solenoid reads ok, check each of the wires from the solenoid in question from the solenoid to the plug socket outside of the valve cover. Put one OHM meter lead on one wire at the solenoid and the other lead at the plug that is outside the valve cover.

Thanks for the suggestions took truck to Texas Diesel Power in Weatherford Tx. They replaced the #3 injector and truck runs great again. Truck was ready in less than 2 hours. My truck had 90k on it so it would have still been under warrarty until the dealer opened the hood. And I have DDP nozzles on the factory injectors so that would made it hard get the dealer to swap them out and look the other way.
