Jeremiah I have no sliding back glass

Yes the 7/70 is transferrable

I raised enough hell and they will fix my leaking front pinion under 7/70.

J Goodwin that is what I told them. The Pcm is covered under the 100,000 mile emission warranty. Then he proceeded to read from some book( i was on the phone with him. Didn;t see the book). That the emissions warranty only covers the replacement of the PCM. Not adding or removing software. He also wants to spend a min. of an hour checking all of the gauges that feed the PCM. According to the latest that will be charged to me and done before he flashes it. I must have struck a nerve because he called my home at 7:30 to tell me that.

Niceness went out the window the window after my first visit. I bought the truck used. with 39000 miles.

I had a similar experience back in the early '80's. I had purchased 2 brand new vehicles at a dealership and saw a very nice low-mileage used truck, I bought it and was denied service on the radio. A heated arguement ensued and I have never gone back to that dealership (not a Dodge). It cost me $25 and it cost them at least eight new vehicles (1 VW, 3 Acuras, 1 Ford diesel and 3 CTD's). I figure that the $25 was well spent because I now deal with people that I trust and respect. Spread the word to your friends about this dealership, that will hurt them more than they can hurt you.

Anyone own a Saturn

We bought my wife a SATURN in 99. Since you dont know my wife let me explain. She should have married Earnhardt JR. . AT 3000 miles she had worn out the brakes and broken a motor mount. NO Problem all was fixed under warranty. Anyways, She has been through 3 motor mounts on her 4th now. Before we leave the dealership they always let us know what services are next and give us a price for next time before we leave. They know us by name my daughter's name and even a couple of my friends that pick us up there. I had showed an interest in the VUE before it came out. When they rec'd their first one to sell They picked me up at my office brought me to my wife's office so we could drive it.

I GUESS I AM SPOILED TO THIS SERVICE. Oo. But isn't that what should be the norm. Vehicles are getting cheaper and cheaper to make. The prices are sky rocketing in all aspects. At the minimum a dealer should be cordial in selling and in service.

PS My truck is at the dealer now:eek: When he realized who I was his attitude changed. This is my 3rd Dodge truck in 5 years. All bought from that dealership. I realized once I got their several things that have happened there in the recent year. The quality people that were working there left because a BEAN COUNTER was brought in to manage the whole dealership. Of the people that left I can confirm 4 had more than 15 years at that dealership. They also put a Bean Counter as Service Manager.

I now realize their problem.

Dean's comment should be required reading. Turbo diesel owners should clip out what he wrote and show it to every dealer who won't listen to a reasonable, logical complaint.

But note: owners have an obligation to be reasonable too. I'll bet there are a dozen buyers who will try to rip a dealer for every dealer who tries to rip a buyer. People with legitimate complaints pay the penalty for those who try to get in a dealer's pocket.

JARichards,

If you like PM me with your VIN (last 8 digits) and current mileage, fax number and I'll run your trucks VIP summary report. It'll include current warranty info, service history(warranty repairs) and all D/C info on your truck. If you can get it to me today I'LL fax it right back - if not it'll have to wait until next WED. - I'm going to Daytona to drive my viper truck home - look for me on the parade lap - I'll be driving the red one.

FYI - ALL flashes are not to emissions related therefore are not paid for by the factory. Your emission warranty on a diesel is 5years / 50,000 miles. And only for certain Labor Operations.

I'm sure the guys at the shop just want to be paid like the rest of us.

I submitted an idea in the General diesel topics forum of how we could use this site to further our leverage with dealers like these.

We are doing so much free work for Dodge and Cummins as they are using this site as a "listening post" for product feedback. This is fine that they use us like this, but no one seems to care about dealers and how they treat us.

So far my dealer has:

1. Lost a key fob and wanted to charge me $70 to reprogram (they were nice enough to geive me a new one un-programmed!)

2. Left the plug out of my diff cover and refused to change fluid

3. Promised 2 years of free oil change coupons and not delivered

4. Generally been rude bout dealing with me on the many many rattles and wind noises in my truck.

To make a long story short I was called naive and un-American in several replies, but my experience using forums like this in the way my company (Caterpillar) does business tells me that we do have a say and should be heard.

We need to make a case to the editors to enable this forum to actually have some teeth when it comes to dealing with these idiots!
