:--) Here is the story. I brought my truck into Avondale Dodge because it was getting very noisy. When the service writer told me to come down and pick it up, I asked him what they found, he noted they found nothing wrong with it. So I went down and explained to him that the truck was VERY noisy and to get a new one next to it so that he could here the difference. He said he would have the tech look at it again. So I get a call the next morning saying that they found nothing wrong with the truck and that my warranty is void. Not just the motor or powertrain, but the entire truck. . The reason? Well I had a torque locker in the truck for awhile and I had to tap into the speed sensor wires. They said that voided my warranty, and because the truck had the cat removed. These are their only basis for cancelling my warranty. This is BULLS***. So where do I go from here, I am beyond mad. The truck only has 18,000 miles on it.

I believe removing the cat is a federal offense. It could have been worse - they could have reported you. That does stink though, big time. I wish you luck!

that is BS

there are dealers around here that install boxes and keep the full warranty

there is no reason your ENTIRE warranty should be voided for tapping the speed sensor wire and putting on a free flowing exhaust

that is totally up to the discretion of the dealer and they screwed you ...

I,am sorry for your trouble, as they say read the fine print.

Hay, just wondering what do you have to do with phoenix hard drive.

I was screwed very nicely by that company. the only thing they dynoed was my credit card. stay away from this company. buy from standard or blumenthal.

my 2 cents

There is this link complete with phone number if they don’t comply and also this link with excellent info along with a link to the FTC.

I see a couple of the links are broken so be sure to check SEMA’s site here and here

But to save a headache just go to another dealer that wants your business.

Hope some of this helps.

Why not try Performance Dodge? I've heard good things about them. Tempe Dodge and Chapman Dodge have also been recommended.

You may have a bit of a problem, though, since your denial is already in the system.

Might be worth a shot trying another dealer.

Wonder if the speed sensor has anything to do with how the truck records the miles, if so that is probably why they voided it, the take odometer tampering pretty serious.

I always wonder and have read on TDR other's folks concerns about the dealers ability to "trace" mods even when they have been removed. I recall you had that "fiance sponsored fire sale" going on a while ago of all those nice mods you removed. Any chance they "traced" some of them and aren't mentioning it??? I'd try a dealer without the hair up their a**.

Bummer!

I asked my dealer if a Pyro and Boost gauge would be a problem with the warnatee. He said " Hell NO, I will install them if you want. A dealer can not void a warantee" so one more back up, that a dealer cant void any warantee

I feel for you, believe me I really do... ... But you clearly violated your warranty. I do not know you, nor have I ever meet you, but there are always two sides to every story, we are only exposed to your side of the story. You had a "Torque Locker in the truck for awhile", how long was awhile? Just prior too showing up at the dealer?? I don't know, you tell me. I get the feeling you might have not been totally up front with the dealer? Again I don't know, but something stinks. Your truck only has 14,000 miles on it which is good, it is still very new. But it is truly your truck now, a new truck with no warranty. I hate these types of post, people are just plain stupid sometimes. If you would read the TDR, and read the post most people write about, you can not go very far before you read the part about being your own warranty station. This is something that has been drilled into everyones head from almost day one. You bought it, you agreed to abide by there terms. Then you cry when something goes wrong and they refuse to fix it. Like I said I do not know you or your particular case, but your post is so typical it real does not matter who you are or what went wrong. This type of behavior is sickening, and if I was Dodge, Ford, or Chevy (it real doesn't matter what make) i would refuse to fix your screw-up too. I can not think of one good reason why they (Dodge) should work fro free on anyones truck that has violated the terms of there warranty, no one. I think most level-headed people would see things the same way, and take that into account before they do anything to jeopardies their new truck warranty. Yes Dodge does give the average truck owner a little leave way with the warranty, this is subject to local interpretation at the dealer level. Some dealers are known for there rather long leave-way and others are know for their rather shot leave-way, this is too be expected. Kind of like Refereeing, some call ticky tack fouls and others let things go. But as a consumer, and most important a truck owner, you should not expect that your local dealer will bend the rules in your favor, especially if you are anything less then honest with them.

I am sorry you now have a new truck with no warranty, but I do not feel sorry for you. The terms and conditions of your trucks warranty were clearly laid before you, just like anyone else that purchases a new vehicle. And you belong to an organization that continually preaches the "I am my own warranty station" slogan. yet with all this, you willfully altered the vehicle and in-affect violated the terms of that warranty. Now you are crying foul play . For you it is too late, but for other out their how might be tempted to modify their trucks in a way that would put their warranty at risk, I say to you "Is it worth it"? Way to many make such modifications claiming they know about the warranty and even claim they will take responsibility for their actions should the need arise. This all sounds good, till that day comes and you are in fact asked to take full responsibility for your actions. What will you do?? Be a man and except what the dealer comes up with?? Or post on this web site about how you just got screwed?? Think about it.

Yo', Choir boy! I think the fact that he joined the TDR gives him the right to **** and moan with his peers all he wants. The rest of us choose to enjoy our vehicles in the manner that suits us, and most of know what we do can potentially void the warranty. He obviously feels the dealer had no right based on the reason cited and he's lookng for support and validation of his feelings. If this pisses you off, don't read the freakin' posting!

True and he didn't say what noise he wanted fixed, maybe it was transmission? But what could he have possibly done to void the entire warranty? I think that is what his post is about, not that they won't fix something he messed with.

Then you cry when something goes wrong and they refuse to fix it.
Dude. . what if its an injector going bad making noise or the fan was falling off?
This type of behavior is sickening, and if I was Dodge, Ford, or Chevy (it real doesn't matter what make) i would refuse to fix your screw-up too.
What makes you think its his screw up?
I can not think of one good reason why they (Dodge) should work fro free on anyones truck that has violated the terms of there warranty, no one.
Really. . I can, how about if what is wrong with his truck is not related to any changes he made?
you willfully altered the vehicle and in-affect violated the terms of that warranty. Now you are crying foul play
It is foul play to void the entire warranty, heck you mean to say if his cab lights develop a leak it's that stinking Torque Locker?
What will you do?? Be a man and except what the dealer comes up with?? Or post on this web site about how you just got screwed??

OMG, I can't believe you wrote all that.

A local guy had his complete warranty voided for adding a 4" suspension lift, it was voided by DC..... so suspension lifts cause problems with cab lights too? :-{}

KOOPDADDY: You're not going to get advice that will answer your questions on this web site, all you're going to get are opinions -- some of which may be correct and others of which may not. Bite the bullet and make an appointment with a lawyer who specializes in vehicle law. Then at least you'll KNOW where you stand and can proceed from there.

This is kinda a tough one. Not enough details on why he was denied warranty. This quote does not give us enough explanation:

Well I had a torque locker in the truck for awhile and I had to tap into the speed sensor wires.

Should his entire warranty be voided? Probably not.

Should the engine warranty be voided? Possibly.

Should I have to pay more for my new truck because every crazy TDR nut out there modifies their trucks and wrecks stuff and wants it covered by warranty? NO!!!!!!!!!! New vehicle prices have the warranty worked in. In some small twisted way I am paying for those who want to play and don't want to pay. As you can see in my signature, I have a slightly modified 98 12v. I VOIDED my engine warranty shortly after I got it with a fuel plate. That was a risk I was willing to take. The transmission was next to be voided with a BD TC & VB. I guess I lucked out, because I never did have to have any warranty work done on my truck. 167,000 miles on the 98 and I was my own warranty station for most of it. My 04. 5 will remain stock forever. I do not trust it like my 12v and do not want any issues at all when an injector or pump decides to take a dump. Unless of course all new truck buyers want to pitch in while I weasel repairs out of DC!

Don't kick me too hard! LOL :D

Y-NOT

With all these mods you've done, Have you taken your truck in for work that was covered?
