Tow from Huntsville AL to Paducah Ky?

We're looking at used 5th wheels but anything that seems to have been in any sun at all, the decals are deterioating. Has anyone ever taken the old ones off and replaced them? It looks like a pretty serious job. Thanks!

Was getting ready to leave the yard with a new Jayco when the quality manager drove by and noticed one of the decals was crooked. He asked if I minded waiting a few minutes for someone to replace it. I was doing paperwork anyway, so I said sure. A guy arrived in just a couple of minutes and removed the old one and put a new one on within 5 minutes. Now this was on a new trailer, so it may have been easier, but it must not be too hard. Didn't see his technique, so no help there.

I would imagine the decals would come off a lot easier the newer they are but I'm thinking 8-12 yrs. I know this is starting to get old by some standards but other than the decals, some of the rigs are pretty nice. Thanks:)

in every automotive cummunity there are people who specialize in graphics. they know how to put them on and take them off and would be much cheaper that an rv dealer. you can almost date a rv by the colors and style of graphics. up to date colors and graphics would make an older rig look newer if it was clean.

There's all sorts of adhesive removers to get decals off. You can use a special adhesive/decal remover, Xylene, acetone or Goo Gone. A little heat softens the glue too. You should check any solvent first since some paints and plastics will disolve too. New decals are easy; old ones eventually dry out and can be impossible to get off.

Thanks for the replies, I hadn't thought about the automotive industry for removal.

The graphics/stripes are dried out as was mentioned on the older rigs it seems. Can the stripes/graphics be obtained from the dealers as replacements do you know?

Thanks

If the unit is not too old and the manufacture is still in bussiness you might have a chance of getting then from a dealer.
