This idiot re-stained the rails on my deck with one of those home use electric spray guns. I asked if he would like me to move my truck (and my neighbors Durango)? Naw, the breeze is blowin' the opposite way, the trucks are on the other side of the house, what could possibly happen? Thank goodness my truck was able to block most of it from getting on my neighbors truck (same driveway and parking spot). But Jake (my truck) took a beating. IT WAS BAD. Detail shop said at least $350 bucks:rolleyes:

I bought some Detailers Clay, washed the truck worked the clay. . . After about 45 minutes and a half bottle of lube and a totaled patty of clay:eek: I was ready to give up. I took a trip down the mountain to my local automotive paint supply shop. Here IS the cure. Buy a whole bunch of terry shop towels from Costco, Work one area at a time, Hood, fender, door etc. Wipe down well with ENAMEL REDUCER. It will not harm a factory finish. This removes almost all the overspray. Then work that area gently with detailers clay (I am using meguires) with a good lube (I am using Meguires final inspection #34). You are going to love how smooth the paint feels now. Then use your favorite wax products. I used Zymol for the first time and am extremely happy with it. The finish on my truck is healthier looking and more rich than the day I picked it up from the dealer. The work part of it, while tiring is not difficult, in fact, at no time do you have to really work anything, they all do their job well. It just takes alot of time to do all the steps. No need to rewash before waxing either!:D Now some of you I am sure are asking yourselves "Why didn't he just get the idiot who made the mess to clean it up?" ahem, I did:rolleyes: ( Here's your sign. . . )

p. s. It works on the glass too!

Mom's Monte Carlo is kept in my barn, it is not driven very much, and one day I noticed that mice had gotten into the trunk and had gnawed off a bunch of the black insulation, and what was revealed was a different color and also ugly. I cleaned it out and decided to repaint the black insulation so that the mice nibbles wouldn't show. Sometime later, I went inside the barn and got out a fresh can of black paint and set it on a workbench. There was a pitchfork also leaning up against the bench and as I walked away somehow I stumbled and knocked the pitchfork over and also knocked the can of paint over. Yep! The can of paint fell down, onto the tines of the pitchfork and punched one neat little hole right in the bottom side of the can--it started spraying paint all on it's own! So I picked it up and thought, "Gee, I'll just take it and go touch up the trunk insulation. " So I CAREFULLY carried it to the back of Mom's MC and CAREFULLY opened the trunk and CAREFULLY got the spraying can in and leaned way over and did a NEAT, GREAT JOB... Until I backed out of the trunk and accidently sprayed myself across the face. (It was one of those days!) I had glasses on and suddenly everything went black! When I cleaned my face, arms, and glasses and looked at the car again... you guesses it... the back of the fenders and bumper had sprouted a zillion little black dots. But Mom got a kick out of how I did it.

I did something like that when I painted my garage with a roller. It was a windy day and I guess my truck was'nt far enough away. Had a few brown specs on it. After about a year I decided to get them off bought Mothers Clay bar kit and it took them off. Then I used Klasse All-In-One Polish & Sealant and then went over it with High Gloss Sealant Glaze. I don't think I'll ever go back to just waxing it again after using this stuff. I read about it on VWvortex and got some from http://www.autogeek.net/ind.html It is some good stuff.

Absolutely! Clay is amazing stuff. The paint feels so clean it is like glass. The only problem is, there was so much overspray it took 45 minutes to clean a one square foot section of the hood, and the clay was loaded! I still had alot of truck to do! The enamel reducer was like a gift from the heavens.
