Well, I have reached DEF Pump death by waiting. Got the High Reductance Pressure fault. Injector nozzle was clear and the problem appears to be the pressure sensor in the pump. Of course the pumps are backordered with the warranty trucks getting first dibs on the pump. My understanding from the dealer is that the backorder list is over 3000 with the first delivery batch of 350 to be shipped soon (was supposed to be 1 June). Problem is, they can’t manufacture them for some reason due to parts shortages. So before I got into limp mode, I’ve just parked the truck. Today I opened a case with Ramcare. With 96,000, I’m out of warranty. It will probably be at least 2 months before I can get one. I know, just delete everything and move on. However, I recently was told by a fellow owner, that he had to sell his truck outright because the emissions had been altered and the dealer wouldn’t trade as a result.

So, if you guys hear of any reliable dates for delivery, please post or shoot me a P.M. Ram seems to be unwilling to provide any availability info leaving owners in a bad position going forward.

I googled it the other day and saw listings for several new pumps, and Cardone automotive parts rebuilder is offering a rebuild and return service for your original pump, costs about $420 plus shipping.

i had ram dealer replace mine about 4 weeks ago under warranty. the service writer sent the tech way across town to another dealer who apparently had one in stock.... they swear up and down it was a factory part...just f y i for you. good luck. cheers! :)

I keep getting mixed messages. The new p/n is is 68085908AH. I contacted dealers nationwide today as well as Mopar Parts. All of them responded with pump backordered. I may go with a rebuilt but that is 30 days itself. Ughhhhhh.

I will look into the rebuild when I get home. When the local dealer told me June 1 was the estimated delivery date earlier this week, I figured on going new.

Used from a salvage yard?
Did you google looking for new? I saw a few listed, they were bucks up, but supposedly available.

Yeah. I’ve contacted different dealerships throughout the US. No one has a pump. The EBAY ones are older models are mostly used.

I wouldn't even use Cardone Toilet Paper! Last part from them I bolted on my vehicle lasted 30 min and let go on the alignment rack. Power steering pump and it started leaking. Well it was leaking because the shaft was no longer touching the seal on one side. The bearing that was ground up to allow the shaft to move dusted the steering box, hydrobooster, cooler, and lines. I got to replace all of those parts and flush the cooler. If that wasn't bad enough I went through 5 more pumps on that vehicle even with a PS filter installed. When you go through 3 to get one that works out of the box it adds up quick. Now I either get a PS pump from a good wreck in a junkyard or OEM New.

Because it's not available don't mean one has to waste their time with Cardone junk. o_O

It's getting to the point you need a back up vehicle. Between parts and tech shortage potential long term loss of a vehicle is real.

At least I have a case number from Ram Care now and will receive an ETA on a pump on Tuesday. That’s progress.

My backup is a Harley. It’s a lot hotter riding than my truck, especially in the 90 degree weather today.

Glad to see you have a great back up ride! But remember that there are a lot of drivers who don't watch out for "bikes"! No fenders or doors to protect you. Hope you can get a favorable ETA on pump. Sucks not having a truck to use!

I just received an update from Ramcare. I was told the pump ETA is early June and that I will receive two notifications, one from Ramcare and a second from the dealer when it is shipped and received. That’s better news than I was expecting. Just tough I would keep this updated since I had asked that anyone with possible availability updates to let me know.

NOPE and at this point don't plan to. I know too many people with bad side effects.
Bad side affects??? Like what??? Worse than dying from covid???
No, you don't know anyone with that bad side affects from any vaccine.
You definitely should still be wearing a mask.
