Every rig with a computer controlled dash is this way. The top 1/2 is big to make you feel like you're getting great mileage and the bottom 1/2 is fast for some unknown reason.

I've noticed this over the years with all my vehicles. I believe it has to do with the float 'topping out'. The float can't go any higher due to restrictions, but the fuel can. In other words the float is submerged and doesn't start reading correctly until the fuel gets low enough for it to read correctly. That's my theory anyway. :-laf

Just noticed you said 2500. My 3500 actually does have a front plate bracket. Maybe you can heist one of them for your 2500. :)

Been there, done that. I'm not a young man any more thus I now realize I don't run near as fast and take a long time to heal. The good news is all I had to do was pick my dentures up off the ground and put 'em back in my mouth after he knocked them out. How was I to know he was actually using the front license plate bracket on his 3500? He didn't have a license plate in it but instead some sign with the words Sempre Fi.

I should mention the my DEF gauge has been constantly reading empty for several months now. Ever since some key components....ummm...fell off.

I found the best reserve fuel and security to be the "old way" , this inadvertently secures the DEF fill also....

Hi SnoKing, I have the yellow can too. I'm sitting here trying to imagine how this is plumbed. I checked both links you posted.
if you wouldn't mind sharing what your setup is. thanks.

The can sits in the front bed box right above the diesel fill. The Super Siphon is used to manually siphon diesel into the tank when needed. The check valve on the hose end is used to start the siphon by moving it up and down in the can. It can be a little tricky to get the hose back out of the filler neck with its two trap doors. I use a long screw driver when needed. I do not need to remove the can from the box to make this work.

ACTUALLY THE 5.5 or whatever is billed to the buying dealer..Yep FCA charges for the Go juice..I'M not kidding.. they bill the vehicle for what ever the additional Gallons state... Now here's the really kicker, The Selling Dealer Must pay the State and FED road Tax (Whatever the state law on Road tax) on the additional gallons....

To the poor OP.. Mine 16 does the same. Gauges are not accurate at all as others have noted. Just gives an Idea lol. The DEF Gauge is really off. You are giving this too much thought.
