Every rig with a computer controlled dash is this way. The top 1/2 is big to make you feel like you're getting great mileage and the bottom 1/2 is fast for some unknown reason.
Just noticed you said 2500. My 3500 actually does have a front plate bracket. Maybe you can heist one of them for your 2500.![]()
