All of this is giving me hope to keep this beast after the 8/125k extended plan is expired.
Thinking if it is used mostly to tow nationwide and it is run long and hard more than short and easy the odds are in my favor.

@HVAC2 , "Drive it like you stole it!". Short runs are okay as long as you can take her out and let her "RUN".I always take the long way home to get up to temp! I'm 3rd owner with just under 160K. Minimal issues to deal with. Keep them maintained and use good fuel sources whenever possible. Many others on here have many trouble free miles and the advice to help when an issue arises! I wish I'd been able to swing the extra amount back in 2000 to have gotten a diesel 2500 instead of the 1500 5.9 gasser! Better late than never to the party! the 3500 DRW might be overkill for me, but was too good of a deal to pass on for a truck that I have always wanted! Love these trucks!!

I have a 2020 International MV607 with a Cummins B6.7L and International emissions. International and Freightliner are having problems with DEF sensor failures, some folks have been trying to fool the system, which the system detects, and starts irreversible derate. Requires dealer programming to resolve. Backyard deletes are pretty much becoming obsolete.

I know we are persisting this point of not deleting... it's becoming a point of fact and law. EPA is not the bad guy... no political agenda, much of the Democratic world is doing the same thing. There are countries choking in smog, particularly big cities and industrial areas in many other types of societies.

Most power ever achieved with white ash and water vapor coming out your tailpipe versus smoke and tar. Pretty amazing.

This thread is a great discussion about emissions, and I think we will progress to where folks actually keep emission trucks a long time, and fix them along the way.

Cheers, Ron

Admittedly, I had great reservations buying my first DPF/SCR equipped diesel. But, after now 6 years of owning my Sprinter, I can honestly say that I appreciate how clean and smooth it is. You can stand behind it with it running and get nothing more than a faint smell of DEF at times. Otherwise, it is as clean or cleaner than any of my gas powered vehicles. I still have my old pre-emissions 5.9 and have no plans to get rid of it anytime soon. But when I do, I don't have any concerns replacing it with the new technology.

Nah, not for a vehicle registered in another state, they wouldn't have the authority.
If enforcement ever goes federal, maybe then.

But, as I said, it won't matter to me, not deleting.

Are you speaking from actual knowledge of the laws or opinion?

It's already against Federal Law to alter or remove OEM installed emissions equipment and the enforcement of said laws have been ramping up. In a number of cases, the EPA has quoted individual posts from truck forums regarding deleting of emissions equipment. If the EPA directs States to enforce it, they will have to because the carrot on the stick will be federal funding, enforce it or lose it.

Federal Law does not care if you are driving a truck registered in Montana through Commiefornia, Federal Law operates without State borders.

There is no federal enforcement of non-commercial vehicle operators along the roadways.
