About 2 months ago I purchased a used Delta 105 gal L-shaped fuel tank with a pump for $350 bucks. After I got it home and started to take a look at it, there was a lot of rust and sediment in the bottom. Probably because the PO did not have any pipe dope on any of the threads. I called around to see if anyone cleans this big of a tank. I found one place that does so I took it to them to have it cleaned. This was on the 13th of May (last month). I was told it would be 2 weeks. I said no hurry. They had to drill two 1/2" holes in the front near the corners in order for the chemicals to drain out. The cost of this to be done is over $400 dollars. I have not received any calls stating that it is done. I was talking to my one neighbor and he told me the 1/2" holes make sense if I have to drain the tank again. I sort of agree with him. I can have a couple of nipples welded onto the tank and put a couple of plugs in. Would you guys have this big of a tank with nipples and plugs in the bed of your truck? I am not sure I will have the clearance in the bed if the nipples are on the tank. By the way, I have not paid for the tank to be cleaned yet. If I do get the call I might just not even bother to pick the tank up. According to my copy of the work order anything not picked up after 10 days will be sold. Thanks and I would appreciate any input. Sorry for such a long post.
