Trailer axle questions

Looking at a desert fox T/H by Northwood... . bumper pull. It is a 2006 , gvwr of 13500 dry weight of 7500.

Does anyone have any direct experience with this type/brand/builder... ..... good or bad?? How is it holding up?

Appreciate any input

Thanks Steve

I had a friend that had a longer version. He had some black water plumbing issues and problems with the fold down bed. Both were with in the first few months of ownership. Other than that he was happy with it.

Thanks for the info... ... ... ... as it turns out we are going to pass on this one.

My 5' wife would need a step ladder to get anything out of the cupboards:)

Any of the toyhaulers are going to have high ceilings and the cabinets mounted high.

I had the 28' Desert Fox and one thing that made me switch to my 36' Raptor is the problem with using the kitchen and dinette when stopping for lunches when all the quads are in. Also all the supplies for the quads get piled up back by the door. .

If you use it ONLY for going a short ways to a riding area and not use it for vacations with the quads, then i is OK.

I used a Hensley hitch for this and it was well worth it for this trailer for the weight.

Both my wife and I are pretty short. She's 5'1 and I'm 5'5 and reaching the top cabinets is a problem, but we cope. A stepstool like you mentioned is exactly what we use. A small, cheap $10 or $20 one is all you need and it can be stowed in a closet for travel. We also arrange the items in the cabinets based on frequency of use so as to not have to reach all the way to the top shelf every time. The more commonly used stuff goes on the first shelf in the cabinet or in drawers or cabinets under the sink. As Eric mentioned, you'll find most toyhaulers with tall rooflines. You just have to put a little time into some arranging your stuff and you'll be fine.
