The Models: D/F 28KS-Ragen FS 3000. I'm looking at these two and I'm confused. Every one says if it's a toy-hauler, Desert Fox is the best. I'm asking because a good price deal on a 2008 FS 3000 came up locally.
RV Consumer group, which seems to be the accepted guide, rates the Ragen better than the D/F in Hwy. control and about equal in all else.
______________2009_________________________2008
____________D/f 28KS___________________Ragen FS 3000
Reliability_______82___________________________82
Value__________83___________________________80
Hwy control_____66___________________________74
Axels___________2____________________________3
I know Ragen is out of business, but if buying used you get no warranty what's the difference?
Both are at the upper end of what my truck is rated for but if I want a toy-hauler I'm gonna tow heavy at that size. Will the extra axel help or hurt?
How about opinions and facts from you guys. I'm not going to live in it but I will pull it from AZ. to NY. for the Summer and back in the Fall.
It's got to go on the bumper. I need the bed for two 100 Lb. dogs... . and the trailer gets my 900 lb. GoldWing.
