Off Roading here is a place to look at

Off Roading biggest tire on 16.5X975

Do you guys think we are going to see the modified truck class full since you can't run in more than one class. What's up with no drugs for the modified boys?

Its difficult to say this early. When the word gets out about how high the purse is, we could see a lot of trucks in all the classes.

Diesels don't need drugs to make power.

Sleddy,

Is that 7500 spread out for all three classes or for each class if they are all full. Either way that's some nice $$$. With that much money I can see some classes having more than the 75 trucks allowed to run qualifing. Is there going to be pre-registration or is it first come saturday morning. matt

Well, since you cant use your water at Muncie Craig, I bought you something you can use to help battle the high EGT's...

THANKS I think

Now that is a true friend

Do I wear that or wrap the engine with it??

The thing I just reread was that all the classes are 8k and the big dog class can really pig out at 8500 I can easily make any of the classes that way, I like it.

7500 is divided among the three classes. We are shooting for $1000 to win the street class, more for the other two.

Quite the change from the lousy $300 I won the last two years.

Register that morning only.

All three classes are 8000 pounds.

All three classes are 8000 pounds.

All three classes are 8000 pounds.

Fester? Did you read that?

Hey Matt, we gonna experience the Cummins Bunny Hop again this year???

Oh Red Truck Power God buddy... .

The only bunny hop you'll see this year will be if Gene lets me wheel his truck because of him being to busy running the pulls. That bunny hop will have nothing to do with the trucks suspension,it will Gene jumping up and down all nervous about like the time I drove him around York... ... ..... Andy

:D :D :D :D :D

Now I thought you forgot all about me having you just slightly sideways at 80 that day. I guess I was not correct then on that. Come On Gene,Just one more little tinsy winsy drive... ... LOL... .....

well after more rule reading and talk with my bud BBD it looks like we are illegal as we sit right now---our lower front control arms are longer than stock, thus they don't use the factory mounting point at the frame, and I'll be changing my upper arm also---rule states the arms can be beefed up, but must attach to the factory mounts--this sucks as this helped me not hop--- also there are lifts out there that make one or both the arms longer--another thing is the 5" suspension lift, ok I get this(not sure others will be happy that have bigger lifts), but what if you have a suspension lift and body lift--does the body lift count towards the 5"---chris

Chris, the rules state, "Raising vehicle height with suspension mods not to exceed 5". . " . Body-lifts are not related to suspension, so I don't believe that would count towards the 5".

Rob

Rob --I agree, but you sure don't want to arrive at a pull join up and then get booted after you've forked over the $$$--so I want to get it from the horses mouth to be sure--it's really the front control arm thing that's got me ticked, but if that's the rule then that's the rule and I can't join in the reindeer fun--ol' rudolph the red sport ram with a campershell and ladderrack and modified control arms is on the other side of the gate---chris

From DHRA Tech Brian Block:

"Chris the rule states it must be DHRA approved on your suspension. As long as it looks safe like an aftermarket kit or something you are fine.

BBD you could pull modified with your air ride as long as you blocked it solid. "

You can e-mail Brian: -- email address removed --

Sleddy --thanks for putting KTA's response here--that's good news--I think a few bottles of some ol' kantuck sour corn squeezin's won't hurt my cause either--what'cha think--chris

We may be adding an Exhibition class. This is what it is looking like:

Exhibition Open

If there is enough interest, this class will be run after the Modified Diesel trucks qualify, time permitting. The sled will be set the same as the Modified Diesel class.

Trucks will be allowed to enter this class only if they cannot meet the rules of the three official classes.

8000 pounds

26" hitch height

Compression ignition engines. (no spark plugs)

If your vehicle is turning more than 4500 rpm, it will need safety equipment equivalent to the modified class.

If the truck is deemed unsafe by a DHRA tech official, then it will not pull.

This is a Thunder in Muncie only class.

Exhibition

I like it!

BTW: Are there going to be any smoker tractors or big rig pullers at TiM? I know, I know... they want bread to show up and hook... . but this is something that would draw even more folks out of the woodwork to see in person... .

Matt

I think with qualifying in the morning, and then the feature starting soon after, it is gonna be a LONG day of pulling. How many total hooks last year???

This year if they take the first 75 trucks to sign up in each class, and then take the best 25 of those and pull them again, thats 300 hooks!!!
