1999 Cummins ATS Aftermarket transmission TC locked up

my noise is a constant squealing that seems to in rhythm with the wheel speed. sounds like a wheel sensor rubbing. anyone have any idea?

Sorry, but that is WAY too little information to endeavor to determine the actual cause of the noise you are hearing.


Here is just one possibility--

A small piece of gravel or a small branch can get caught between the brake dust shield and the rotor and cause a light squealing . Usually they get spit out pretty fast, but other times they can stay lodged for awhile.


and below are a couple of suggestions if just in case havent done them already--

1) Safely raise that corner of the truck and turn the wheel by hand while listening for the same or other noise

2) SAFELY remove that wheel from the truck and then CLOSELY inspect A) the brake pads for signs of abnormal wear, B)the brake caliper for free axial movement, and C) the brake rotor for any signs of abnormal wear, excessive heat or sticking calipers

Like Wire, I had a hissing sounds under any load other than idle, mine was a leaking exh manifold gasket on the back of #6. Mark at TST said on these 5.9s that is pretty common but often overlooked, not saying it the issue but one I've seen more than just mine.

Same here, #6 leaked.
