If the lot has just what you want great but if not order. I usually end up ordering why pay for stuff you don't want or need or not have what you want. All it takes is time. My 96 took 14 weeks to get. My 01 when I ordered said between 7 and 14 weeks. It showed up in 6.

They would have to have something really special for me to get one off the lot. I order my vehicles so I don't have to say "shudda got". If I am not satisfied with the configuration, it's myself to blame.

I got lucky, mine came off the lot. The price was right as well. The only thing I miss is a sliding back window and that can be added anytime.

I usually order and I did this time. I ordered my 98, but my 01 F250 came off the lot. Mine took 9 days from order date to ship date. I couldn't believe it.

I would have preferred to special order my truck. However, I was on a tight time frame to put the new truck in service before the end of the year (for tax reasons). I was afraid that if I special ordered it, it would not make it by the end of the year. So I just bought the closest thing I could find on the lots that matched what I wanted. I likely would have never bought black -- although I've always liked the way it looked, I certainly didn't want to maintain it. After about 5 coats of Zaino bros. , I have no regrets with the black at all.

I bought my `03 in the middle of July, so I got what was on the lot, but got pretty much what I wanted. Things I didn't get but would liked to have had: Fold flat floor, fog lights, better stereo. With the exception of the fold flat floor I believe I can get better quality accessories after market.

I went the special order route. If you can wait it is the way to go. I dont know who ordered some of the trucks I see on the lot. You sure see a lot of odd combinations. . Detroit (Stuttguard?) would be wise to streamline the process.

I knew what I wanted and was lucky enough to find it on the lot 4 miles from my house... . couldn't believe how hard it was to find a regular cab... I did have to settle for a couple of options that I didn't care if I had or not

I bought off the lot. I couldn't find what I wanted in Washington so I went to Dave Smith in Idaho; he had over 100 trucks in stock. I don't like sliding rear windows but the Dodge window isn't too bad. When you buy a truck with every option what is there to order?

I was able to buy it off the lot (dealer traded with another dealer about 60 miles away). Fortunately, it had all the options I wanted - nothing more, nothing less. If I had to order my truck, this is exactly what I would have ordered.

I ordered my truck. My specifications were so weird the dealer wanted $1000 deposit instead of the usual $500. I ordered a SRW, 6-sp, 4. 10, LWB. Dealer did a search and couldn't find anything even close to that. Glad I ordered--it was worth the wait. I got exactly what I wanted and it smelled great inside (some vehicles sit for a couple of months in the lot).

I can't complain about the deal I got... I know the owner of the truck dealership and he made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. . plus I test drove it before I drove a Ferd and that sold me even more. :):):):)

Almost bought a Black Sport, but found the White Sport I was after originally. Truck hit the lot Wednesday, prepped Friday, and I bought it Saturday, March 30th. ;)

Off the lot this time. Had a kid plow into the back of me and I thought it was over for the old one. We had wanted a quad but decided to wait. I had actually taken the same truck for a test drive about 2 months before and was surprised it was still there. This time they were ready to make a deal.

I ordered the 94 and the wait was tough. It was ordered in June or July of 93 and I didn't get it until December.
