Wait a minute...

You have DEF pumps in this country that work without a Magnet?
I'm stunned, as this was on our pumps in Europe as a standard since 2006 when DEF was implemented.
Keeps people to fill their fuel tank with DEF.

I truly hope that RAM has a Magnet in the filler neck as this is the other standard.

I wonder if the filler neck from a European RAM or Jeep would include the pump activating magnet? And, if so, would it fit on a USA or Canadian model?

I just bought a 2015 3500 6speed and really like it. But my question is - I don't use my truck much in the winter (November - March) and the DEF tank is down to about 1/3. I realize the DEF ages and needs to be kept fresh. Should I wait until Spring and empty the tank, then flush and refill it or top it off and hope it will be OK when I start using the truck next Spring? The truck pulls a 38' fifth wheel camper or a 24' gooseneck flatbed hauling machinery. It is almost always working when running and is usually not for pleasure cruising.

It goes bad in high temps, so you should be fine.

So freezing temps of -20 degrees for up to 3 weeks sustained won't cause any problems to or in the tank if I leave it alone and top it off next Spring? It does get cold like that some years here in Northeast Nebraska.

Nope, no problem, it can freeze and thaw without going bad.
Heat kills it - stored in a fridge you could keep it for years without problems.

Be careful of buying DEF in the 2.5g containers at the truck stops. The last time that I did that, I got a box of bad DEF. That was in PA and it took me all the way to UT before I got it burned off. The truck was not happy and it told me so every 50 miles or so. I went to Walmart and got a box
in UT and dumped that in, CEL went off and the computer stopped giving me nasty messages. The freshest DEF is at the pump in a truck stop!

Aside from 1 time all of my DEF has come from the pump and I've never needed a magnet, nor had I even heard of them.

I do generally use the same DEF fill station thou as all of my long trips are less than 1 tank of DEF so I can fill up locally.

No Ram trucks are officialy sold in Europe so there I can clearly say no.
For the GC I'd have too search if they have a filler neck - or the DEF tank under the hood like it is most of the time on passenger cars. Then ones under the hood are meant to be filled with jugs.

First time I tried, I spent way too long trying to get the def to flow (at a pump) at a pilot NW of Marietta, GA. I asked inside, after clicking the handle about 50 times until my forearm was exhausted. It would flow a bit then stop after a second. I could hear the flow and then hear and feel the click when it stopped.
Inside at the checkout (when I told them their def pump wasn't working), they said there is a magnet protective device. I have encountered the magnet about half of the times I tried the pump (Arizona/New Mexico, and several other states). Now I carry the magnet collar with me. In Marietta, GA, that was the first time I heard about the magnet collar, so I had to buy a 2.5 gallon def box even after wasting time at the pump. In Marietta, I hadn't bought the magnet collar because I hadn't heard about it.
I was frustrated and my wife asked me what took so long when I got back to the campsite.

I was mistaken. It was not a Pilot truck stop. It was a Loves where I first discovered the issue with the magnet.

Last time I filled up with DEF I used a long neck funnel and poured out of the jug without the spout. Went so much much faster and didn't spill a drop.

A VIN is required to get the right manual, I don't have any European VINs... 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, USA edition.

Best price per box is at the local truck parts store. And, be sure to ask them how often they order stock to ensure it does not sit on their shelf to long. Store the box jug in your cool basement 'till you need to refill. I fill mine below 1/2 and it all fits. Just don't wait too long 'till it is almost empty...
