I called a Cummins mechanic to make an appointment.
I gave him a description of what was going on.
When cold the truck starts fine, when warm it takes more cranking and when driving around (truck already warm) the idle seems low and at times it has died (usually the AC is on).
He mentioned that he has begun to see problems with the fuel and the lack of lubricants. He started using a fuel additive with lubricants.
He mentioned that I should do the same. The problems I described makes him think that my problem is lack of lubricants in the fuel.
What's the word on the street?
Thank you very much,
Steve
