How many are trying to drive for economy now????

i was told yesterday that diesel will got to 2. 75 by end of summer grrrr. its 2. 00 right now in the south. i am glad i got a company car and dont have to drive my truck much!!

I went by the station I usually get fuel at this morning at around 9:30am diesel was $2. 059, between 11:30am and noon drove by again it had changed to $2. 099. I'm afraid it's just a drop in the bucket compared to the way it's going to be before long.

I sure have been thinking hard about asking my uncle if he wants to start carpooling to work again. That way I only have to drive the CTD two-weeks a month. :(

up here

Well be happy your not in Canada--Calgary,Alberta is . 829/litre as of today, filled up the company Ferd(7. 3)cube 1ton dually for 155. 00CAN. This will last about 500miles(3 days driving) delivering bread, mostly city driving, some highway. In 1997 when we switch to diesel from propane the cost of diesel was. 350/litre. In 1991 when we went from a gasser to propane, propane was . 007/litre till 1997 when it went to . 045/litre. Thats why we when to a diesel---now what, i hate to fill a big rig, cost of fuel must be killing them

Fuel Prices

$2. 75 here in Everett WA too! I saw $2. 799 in downtown Seattle yesterday! On the evening news they said "FUEL" was going up about 0. 25 in the next week... . If that happens we'll be up over $3. 00 a gallon!!!! (Insert explitive of choice here!)

Looks like I'll have to switch to driving the wifes Nissan if this crap continues for much longer... ... . ICKY POO_POO!

Clay :{ :{ :{ :{

I did 'spoolin up' s 3rd gen fuel tank fix last week then had to fill up, $95. 00 later. But it sure filled up quick and nice. Today Diesel was between $2. 69 and $2. 79 on the way into work. The other day I saw it at $2. 85 at one place.

I feel for you guys and gals up north of California. Holding study at $2. 33. 9 in Lathrop, CA. where I buy my diesel. Hasn't changed in 5 days. Holding my breath. Oo.

"Sunshine Tax"

:{ My sister lives in Ellensburg Wa where they've had 1. 33" of rain and are paying $2. 79 for diesel. Here in San Diego we're up to 20"+ of rain, no sun and diesel as of this morning was $2. 42 at an independent station. Go figure :(

Just filled up at Wal-Mart with gift card for $2. 009/10 and that is in Georgia where the taxes are some of the lowest in the nation, gift card saved 3 cents per gallon.

Diesel Prices

Last week diesel went from $1. 95 to $2. 15, and sounds like higher prices are just around the corner. #@$%!

well if i am at 2. 05 and some of you are at 2. 75 then we will be at 2. 75 and you will be at 3. 45. 35 gallons will cost you 120. 75..... MOTHER FRIGGER. about time to sell the big deisel truck or buy a TDI!

35 gal. at $3. 45 at 17mpg 595miles . 20 cents a mile.

time for a 5 speed jetta 15gal @ $3. 45($51. 75) 45mpg 675miles . 07 cents a mile

cost for 100K is $20,000 to drive the dodge verse TDI $7,000 so with the money you save in fuel you can afford to buy a TDI and keep the dodge for work/play!!!

And I thought when it hit $2 a gallon we were getting ripped off. Im glad I live down south :). Its just now reached $2. 05 a gallon as of last week :--). Looks like I just may have to hop in my moms civic to run back and forth to school if it keeps going up.

If you really want to save, buy a Honda Insight gasser and pay less than 5 cents per mile, assuming gas in your area is cheaper than diesel. My CTD and my wifes gasser truck both get 18 mpg. Mine currently costs 13 cents per mile compared to her 9 cents per mile. So the fuel efficiency of a diesel is now outstripped by it's high cost. So in the name of economic efficiency, gas is more efficient. At least this is true where I live, gas 1. 99, diesel 2. 30.

BUT IN Canada they are using that money for governmental programs NOT PROFIT for the fat cigar smoking crwod! And believe you me with a country the size of Canada - and a small population - you need some money to keep things rolling... .

I have seen it as high as 2. 60 / gal in Pittsburgh.

What happened to the days of 0. 75/gal just 5 years ago?

All I can say is, I wish my pay increased 370% to match the inflation of fuel prices.

Well, it's up to $2. 69/gal here in Richland, WA. Time to break out the motorcycle for commuting.

But it could be worse... just got back from the UK, diesel is . 88p/liter (3. 79Liters = 1 gallon)... after the conversion, that's over $6. 00/gal :--)
