The DHRA is an organization whose goal is to provide sanctioning for diesel pickup drag racing. We want to provide a professional, organized, safe race for points. The DHRA will be divided into regional “divisions”. Each division will have a Director that is in charge of organizing the races, divisional sponsors, and keeping track of the racers points. Not every region of the United States has directors yet. Division 3 (Great Lakes region), Division 4 (Texas, OK, NM area), Division 2 (South East US) are currently working on schedules. Membership for the 2003 season is $30. This will buy the racer a divisional t-shirt, decal, and access to the official DHRA website. We are in need of accounting help and we need a treasurer to kick off this season and to start collecting membership money.

The rules and regulations will be developed as we grow. A committee consisting of the members will volunteer to sit on this committee. All racers will abide by the NHRA/IHRA general safety rules. Racers must pass a technical inspection at each race by a DHRA official whether the track has tech or not.

Each member will be assigned a permanent number that must be displayed at each race. The sponsor, or the number of attendees will determine the racing format. The racing formats will either be bracket or index heads-up, or an agreed format for a sponsor’s race.

NHRA/IHRA safety guidelines will be strictly enforced. We will have our own rules. All e. t. are based on a ¼ mile time. Some of those rules are as follows:

Catch Cans; 1 gallon catch cans permanently affixed to both the coolant over flow and the crank case overflow on all vehicles with Propane, twin turbos or run faster than 13. 99. Summit sells these for $14. 50 p/n SUM-G1472-1478. We can’t afford to be known as the track oilers!

transmission blankets will be required on 13. 99 or faster vehicles with manual transmissions and 10. 99 or faster with automatic transmissions.

Drive shaft loops will be required on all vehicles 13. 99 or faster. 4x4 must have a front drive shaft loop also.

Lift kits- If you have any suspension lift kit, you are limited to 13. 99 et or slower. Leveling kits are not considered as a lift. The actual rules are different, but after meeting with the NHRA this is what was decided.

Classes

Street Diesel- No electronics (delay boxes, trans brake), licensed and insured. No excessive lightening (i. e. removing seats, dash, etc. ) 11. 99 e. t. or slower.

Modified Diesel- No electronics, 9. 99-11. 99 e. t. , This is our modified door slammer class. Lightened, gutted, roll caged.

Pro-Diesel- No delay boxes, 9. 99 e. t. or faster.

Per Round of Eliminations: 10

1st Place: 50

2nd Place: 25

Fastest Elapsed Time*: 10

Closest to Dial-In/Index: 10

*Time must be recorded during elimination round.

Points to subtract from your score.

We look forward to the 2003 racing season!

Eric, are you gonna lower the truck, or go slower?

good thing there is no fine for other stuff falling off the under body. Like corn stalks, dried mud, grass, or small cars.

also, is the 4x4 driveshaft loop only for fast trucks, or all. And if you run in 2x4 is it needed on the front?

man just when I thought I had the NHRA rule book figured out I get a new set of rules :D :D

just joking good luck when you want the $30 George

Good question Wayne, if you have a 4x4 that runs 13. 99 or faster, you will need a drive shaft loop on the front shaft or remove it. That keeps it safe.

We have to get an account and someone trustworthy enough to take the payments, be our treasurer. Looking for volunteers for that.

Here's how we are going to handle the divisions- We will post the locations of the races in each division. You can choose which division you want to race in, but you can only race in one division. Now, like I said we don't have all of the United States covered whether it's due to no races in that area, no director, or the director is currently busy and hasn't had time to get things ready (i. e. Division 1-North East US; Division 5- SouthWest US) we don't have a Midwest director yet. I will post all of the races that we can infect even if that area isn't supported by us yet.

Remember, this is just starting and we hope to grow big enough to have the whole US covered. Come grow with us... . :D

I'm no drag-racer, but I want that t-shirt. Lemme know when to send money.

What About Out West?

Plans are layed for a western division to be created soon. We already have races in Seattle, Woodburn OR, Idaho, Salt Lake City, Sac, Palmdale, Vegas, Phoenix, and more.

Interested persons can post here or contact me via email and I will add you to the list of enthusiasts interested in a western division.

Oo.

Left Coast or Right Coast?

Whiskey, you out this way? Where ya located boy?

I'll be happy to put you on my roster if your out thisaway.

Awesome!

Thanks for the get back there Whiskey.

One thing to run by you is there is a race scheduled for the 8th of March in Roswell NM if your interested. It's being put on by Dixson Diesel. It's not a DHRA event now, but who knows about later. It will likely be a division 4 (Texas) event.

But your not far from Phoenix where the "Hot Teams" exist. Try their web site, hotteams.com,or fasterthenu.com. They run the mopars against the fords against the chevs. We mopar boys need to drum up some competition so we can score points for our team. That means we need ford and chevy competition. This series runs in the spring until it gets too hot down there.

From there your in a position to make events in SoCal and Vegas. YOUR A PLAYER!!! Oo.

Whiskey, email me your email address and I'll send you back a reg form. Basically email, snail mail, ph, good to go.
