P. W. You are just about right on.
Diesel engines in model airplanes are 90% of the time a converted glow engine.
A glow engine and a diesel engine are about the same,, they both slobber up a plane pretty darn well.
A few complaints from Modelers is the Diesel Engines smoke alot more than a reguler glow engine.
P. W. is also right in saying it's not real diesel they burn,, it's more like paint thinner.
Anyway. IF you are interested in airplanes, they are fun,, and If you are good enough, you can make a living flying these things.
All you need to be able to do is travel ALOT, and fly Really Well.
