Just Paid Over $100.00 To Fill Standard Tank

Has anyone used the "Bio-Willie" Bio Diesel???

Took a short road trip today. In Camden County NJ diesel is now 1. 99 and off-road is 1. 79. Still 2. 11 in my town. Amazing how the price changes within a 100 miles.

Boy... ... did I stir up a hornets nest or what??

I don't like the high price of fuel either. I am retired and have to live on what I have. A couple of points:

I have had a diesel P/U since 1985. Every fall the price of fuel goes up because refineries are making more home heating fuel, = less diesel = price goes up for diesel.

The price for crude is at an all time high = higher fuel costs.

Since our goverment increased fuel taxes last time there was a big increase in diesel fuel tax. Since then gas has always been cheaper than diesel during the winter months. They jacked up the diesel tax because so few people drive diesels = no one to complain. Trucking companies eventually pass it on to the consumer who is too dumb to realize that the tax was really on him.

I am not a stock broker. Just lucky enough to put some money in a company that is making huge profits ... now.

$1.95/Gallon

Well tried biodiesel for first time. It cost me $1. 75/gallon. :)

It is made from used cooking oil. After burning a whole tank, (had to refuel at $1. 99 #2) it gave me 3 mpg more than #2. Next time I am near these guys I am buying more than a tank full (60 gal. ) that is for sure.

Alright guys,

If you live in Riverside, CA. I have two locations at $1. 99. One is the new shell station off valleyway exit off the 60 fwy and the other is between the long stretch of van buren between the 60 fwy and 91 fwy.

It just went up here on Long Island after holding steady for awhile. Paying between 2. 299 and 2. 359. Although other areas on the Island I understand dropped a little. Regardless its still too high.

An increase in MPG's is not the norm when using Biodiesel. More often times B100 yields slightly less MPG's and HP.

1. 89 here last friday.

i emailed speedway to ask them why their fuel prices are so high. the response was "because we are maximizing gasoline output". ?!!???

thats pure bunk. you can only get so much gasoline out of a gallon of crude.

you can read all about oil refining here. if i read this correctly, the percentages of product refined, remains pretty constant. don't think you can make so much gas that diesel prices suffer as they have. we are just getting reamed because we don't have the collective "wining" capability of the gasoline vehicle owners.

we all know the big oil companies are crooks and they are just maximizing their profits. i understand you go into business to make money but this is ridiculous. in southern new jersey the average price today is 1. 95

2. 14 here is WA state, but filled up on the way home from Portland, OR, at Chehalis, WA, right on I-5, and got it for 2. 05. Most of our problem up here in WA state is the STATE getting its tax take... . since we have no state income tax, they have to get it somewhere... ... fuel and booze!!

Diesel is 20 to 30 cents higher than regular in Florida ever since the day before the first hurricane hit. Obviously the oil industry in Florida established the price to gouge all the diesel truck drivers who swarmed down here to help us rebuild. Makes me ashamed to be a Florida resident.

There are two stations down in Alabaster where I work that are in a price war. They are selling diesel fuel at 1. 799 and 1. 809/gal. Its great, most of the other stations are at about 1. 999 to 1. 959. I feel for all of you all that are still above $2.

I've seen all kinds of diesel prices, and I think many stations are doing some gouging. It seems in this area (Tri-Cities in SE Washington) the stations sort of held back and didn't lower prices as quickly as their suppliers, and are using diesel sales as a way to bring in more profit. Here is a quick rundown of what I have seen in the last 10 days traveling around:

2. 05 - 2. 08: Typical Tri-Cities price

1. 93 - a station in Pasco (part of Tri-Cities) who normally adds $. 04 over cost

2. 21 - Pasco Flying J (the ripoff station)

2. 11 - 2. 15: Wenatchee area, Spokane about the same

1. 89 - station in Ephrata (near Wenatchee)

1. 93 - Fairfield, WA (little town where no NEVER find cheaper fuel than Pasco  )

I always try to time my trips to fuel up in Pasco, Ephrata and Fairfield!

Hear in S. E Pa. Diesel is now around $2. 13 a gallon. . WTF??? Have they started with the winter blend and that would cause the price increase?

Highest I have seen in Vermont is 2. 39, cheapest is 2. 18. I typically run 5 - 10 cents below the cheapest rate by buying about 225 - 275 gallons per month for my 300 gallon tank from the local fuel supplier. Their price DOES go up in the Winter as they mix the fuel themselves ... never had a fuel problem in the Winter, even at -30 something!

No excuse for it ... that is for sure. It should be coming back down in the next few months ... but by how much, no one knows.

I figured I'd try and make you all feel better, Here in Victoria BC, Canada with all the conversions taken into account it works out to about $3. 00 US for a US gal.

Been $1. 89 right up the street for couple of weeks. Other stations in Spudville are still over $2. 20. Id has one of the highest fuel tax in the US, so you guys that are still paying over $2 are really getting screwed, IMO. Doc
