I calculated the actual pay off point on my 95 Dodge/Cummins dually, which was 68,000 miles. When I sold it, to buy my 05 Dodge/Cummins dually, I got back everything I paid for the diesel. The added bonus is that since most of my travel is in New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Canada Washington and Oregon, the Cummins is best for the grades. In my calculations, I did not consider the difference in fuel cost since diesel was cheaper then gas when I bought my '95. Grizzly![]()

ALSO... You never hear anybody say" I'm glad I got rid of that Diesel pickup and got me a gas one. "
Yeah, I've met a couple of 6. oh no owners who bailed for the Ford V-10!Hohn said:Unless, of course, they were driving a FORD!!

I think you are a little confused. The 8. 1 is a spin off of the old 454 and is a truck engine that is sold to marinizers. Amoung the changes, no mount for a mechanical fuel pump. Many also have the same piston slap issues that the 6. 0 gasser has. GM does not build marine engines. It sales it engines to marine engine company's like Mercruiser, Volvo and others. SNOKING
