Interesting. I noticed this morning that diesel here in Bothell WA, although insanely high, is now less expensive than mid grade gasoline. Just a few months ago, diesel was almost 50 cents more than Supreme !!!

Diesel had been about 10 cent a gallon cheaper here for the last two months. This morning I noticed it is back to 10 cents more expensive. 2. 79 for B20 vs 2. 69 regular. Go figure.

Fuel Prices

Fuel prices are on the annual spring increase. Not sure why diesel is so high. As I understand, it is a by-product of the gas process. It is pure gravy for the oil industry. I paid $2. 89 / gallon yesterday. :-{} I am doing my part to fight back with a bio fuel additive. It helps me go 95-100 miles further down the road on a tank of fuel. :) It is worth it to me.

Getting all the increase from your top secret gas pill?

If it makes anyone feel better just calculate the cost to drive a big block gasser at 10 mpg 100 miles and do the same for a CTD at 17-20 mpg. I doubt diesel will ever be high enough to go back to a gasser.

I live in Bothell too and was just as surprised (I came for a day but stayed a lifetime  ). Seems like it's been a couple of years since diesel was less than super. I hope thats a good sign!

Quiet, someone is going to figure out that they raised the gas prices but not the diesel price. SNOKING

Gas/diesel prices

We need Reagan back to put on price controls like he did in the 70's. Stopped the price gouging and the long lines dissapeared overnight.

My $. 02

Dowg asked his buddies in Big Oil to leave Diesel low for a while so he can continue to drive his Diesel truck.

On August 8, for example, the price of gas in the US, without taxes, would be $2. 17, instead of $2. 56; in Britain, it would be $1. 97, instead of $6. 06.

Bought diesel yesterday at Safeway in Mt. Vernon, Wa, Reg Gas and Diesel were the same price, first time in years. 2. 899 - 3 cents - should have bought more beer to get the 6 cent discount. SNOKING

Sounds like Reagans Proposition 13 which capped utility rates in California. Since Prop 13 capped the utility rates the utilities had no money to invest in new electric plants. Remember the rolling blackouts last summer in CA? This year already Texas has had rolling blackouts because we are shipping so many kilo watts to CA because CA utilities couldnt raise the funds to build more plants.

Reganomics is something we DONT need.

Just capping the rates is over simplistic. We need to get the oil man out of the White House and let Congress investigate the correlation between:

A. Oil man in the White House

B. Record profits

C. Record pump prices

Ya think there is a common connection? Me do.

Lets say you owned an electric company in Texas, and you had the chance to sell the power you generated for more money in CA than you could at home. You mean to tell me you would not do that? I would in a heart beat, as that is the essence of capitalism. If you think the "oil man" as you call him in the White House is behind what we pay for fuel, you're nuts. Its world wide demand, pure and simple. This is not a matter for government, it is strictly a matter of supply and demand.

Would you sit by and let the dairy farmers charge $49. 95 for a gallon of milk?

If it is simply supply and demand then explain why Exxon/Mobil posted world record profits? It is GOUGING. If it was just supply and demand than Exxon/Mobils profits would be about the same as before. If cost (crude) goes up 30% and then retail goes up 30% as well. The profit margin is (essentially) the same. But if you have rising costs (crude) AND you increase the profits margin to astronomical amounts (i. e. , record profit margin) that is gouging.

The RECORD PROFITS they are posting is the giveaway.

If the price of milk was $49. 95 a gallon, and I wanted some, I would pay it. If I didn't want the milk, I would not pay that price, simple enough. I think it is kinda cool that Exxon Mobile is making cash hand over fist. Using your logic, you should give back some of what you earn working if I think you get to much. Exxon Mobile is a business, and any business should be doing their best to make money,as much as they can. If they are not doing that, they are violating the trust of their stock holders. Do you think they are making too much? If so, the answer is simple, do not buy their product. If their product is not purchased, do you know what will happen? That too is easy, they will lower the price in an attempt to sell more. That is how the free market works. I suspect you and many others are angry because the days of cheap fuel are likely over, and you don't like it. Get over it! I don't like to pay more to drive my Ram, but I know that is how it is, and I accept it.

OK, this is the same guy that turned a surplus into a massive deficit in a few short years and you do not think he is the problem. Our grand kids are going to be paying for years to ever bail us out, along with everyone else, except the rich, to whom he keeps giving tax breaks. Wake up America! SNOKING
