I just swapped my 885 pump out with a 887 pump and the 887 pump had a fuel solenoid bracket that was bigger and my solenoid would not fit in so i just swapped brackets. now if i put the solenoid in with both bolts it binds and wont come up but if i just use one bolt then it works and the other bolt hole is about 1/2 inch away

are there two different solenoids that these trucks had if so does anyone have the part number for the two different ones

thanks

Ken

As I recall the 887 is a 215hp pump your oringinal pump would of been a180 hp pump so there could be differnt in sizes especially if the 887 came off a later model. If you know what year the 887 is you could use the cpl to get the right solenoid at Cummins.

The oe solenoids were the same size IIRC but the solenoid Part # was superceded to the larger solenoid. Peak diesel performance sells the origional size solenoid(with brackets and bolts) at a very good price. If you still have both pumps the brackets can be swapped.
