I'm trying to find a BHAF, but not the standard size. I guess it would be more of a SAF (small air filter).

I can't find any sort of parts books online, but maybe someone can figure out what it will cross reference to.

Used to be a K&N RC-4650

RC-4650 Product Specifications

Product Style: Round Tapered Universal Air Filter

Base Outside Diameter: 5 in (127 mm)

Flange Inside Diameter: 3 in (76 mm)

Flange Length: 1. 75 in (44 mm)

Flange Type: Centered

Height: 6 in (152 mm)

Top Outside Diameter: 4 in (102 mm)

Thanks

The EaAU3051 is about as close to those dimensions you can get. I have the EaAU4510 on my Ram and I LOVE it. Makes the turbo sound like it is in the front seat with you. -Jason

Actually the reason I threw this under "Other Vehicles" is because I'm trying to find something for my S-10... . My sister just got the keys along with her license (it's fast enough to get you there, but slow enough to keep you from doing anything stupid), and I'm trying to find small/cheap ways of maybe giving it a little more pep.
Granted, it's got a 2. 2 liter, and I know it'll never be fast, but having drove it for three years, I remember plenty of times wishing I had a bit more so I could pass someone on the miles of two-lane road near my house.

Ok, I'll take the bait. I've kind of always made fun of Amsoil users/addicts as some sort of cult, but it can't hurt to ask :D
Compared to a regular BHAF (NAPA 2790), how is the 4510? Is it a washable element, or disposable? EGTs are fine with my current filter now, but if I had some cash burning a hole in my pocket, why should I switch?

The AMSOIL filters are not washable. They are cleanable. What you do is every 25,000 miles you take your shop air and blow them out from the inside. I also use a shop vac and clean it on the outside. I have read / heard that it does lower EGT's but I didn't have my EGT gauge in my truck till after I had the filter in.

And yes the heat shield really makes it scream. Of course It also helps that I removed the silencer ring when I put the filter on. -Jason

NAPA carries the Duralite 6637 which is what I call a MHAF. The filter is 11 inches long and 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The 4" intake hose to the turbo slides right on and you can use the factory hose clamp. I used it for about 3 years. It doesn't take up as much space as the BHAF. I made a shield from a pattern that was on the TDR web site to keep the heat from the turbo from the filter.

Hope this helps.

The bhaf is paper and as such is sensitive to water/moisture exposure. You'll want to avoid oiled filters like K+N as the oil gets into the intake and also they dont filter well. also price wise the BHAFs aren't cleanable so cost more after 1st change. I like the product but I'm not a spokesperson or addict.

I've had a 2790 on with an Outerwears filter for about the past 9,000 miles. The prefilter is starting to get pretty dirty, but the BHAF itself is still looking almost new.
