So I'm driving down the highway last night (been running like 25 minutes or so) and out of nowhere the truck dings. I immediately looked at the gauge cluster to see if there was a warning lamp on. No warning lamps or anything come on with it. So I file it in the back of my mind. Drop my wife off at the house, go to get fuel. City streets running 40-45 mph (approx 20-25 minutes after the first ding) and I get a double ding. Again no lamps. This is just before I get to the filling station. So I get there and I check the codes and I have a P0514 (Batt. temp sensor-right?)code come up. Odd, I'll have to look that up I say to myself.
So, anyone else ever get a ding and no warning lamps? How about a double ding? From reading past posts I thought that P0514 threw a CEL? Maybe not? Maybe I have had that code for some time and it never threw the CEL and I am just now seeing it because of the ding. Could this code cause a ding? And finally, why would I throw this code while driving?
Any ideas?
Jeff
