Hope someone can help. I have a 99 2500 4 x4. while 'playing' with the computer, I somehow messed up the settings. ie, it says south while going west, and temp keeps moving. sometimes 1 to 4, sometimes 101, ect. Does anyone know how to reset it correctly?

Thanks

Don't laugh, a lot of us are good at this(driving in circles). Start up the engine and press the button on the overhead console until temp. /direction is displayed. Drive the truck in a circle 30 to 90 feet in diameter three times at a speed of 5 to 11 miles per hour. Cal should appear in the display and the system should start working correctly. bg

take it easy! if that don't work try this. One cool feature that your truck has is the ability to show your bearing in degrees! If you don't know what that means it is the direction in degrees off north you are traveling. 0* is north, 90* is east, 180* is south, 270* is west, ect. that may be why your temp is changing so much. Is there a small f or c with you temp? To select this feature simultaneously press and hold both buttons until it changes

Your 1-4 numbers are most likely the compass variation numbers... ... ... depending on what part of the country you are in. The directions for any of the possibilties you may be seeing are spelled out in the owners manual.

Well, I'll be durned

I had thought B G Smith might be pulling my leg with the "go in circle" instructions, but ya'know what? It WORKED! Sorry I doubted you B G. (I did it under the cover of darkness, just in case someone was watching)

I understand. I guess that is one of the first foul-ups I did when the truck was new. I have a large church parking lot near my home but I'm not really interested in my neighbors seeing me going in circles so I too chose to do it at night. :) bg
