Is this really true? A 300hp advertised engine produces only 212 rwhp? So then my buddy's Dmax with the Juice donsn't really have 400+rwhp like he insists?

Most of the reports I have seen have put them in the 235-250 range bone stock. Maybe the one they tested was brand new and tight? Winter fuel up in Canada eh? Who knows.

I do know each and every Dmax is dyno tested and makes rated power BEFORE leaving the assembly plant.

That probably is it. It's probably an automatic and the losses through the Allison are significant. I wouldn't have thought they would be that much, but hey, the dyno results are right there for the world to see.

I would also wonder if they warmed the truck up properly. The numbers do look a little low from the majority that have been across a dyno.

Rob,

Your buddies DMAX with the Juice is probably in the 340-360rwhp area.

I guess you should try drag racing him:D

Then see where you stand!

Justin,

Even though he'd likely win (onacounta the slushbox), he'll never run against me, he's scared of my truck. :p Besides, he's a little older, and not really the racing type, he just wanted some more power to tow his trailer.
