TC Diesel, I have take issue with some of the stuff you post as fact.. now if this was the political forum, I'd say who cares, but some of the stuff you say on technical matters ( such as the thing about the Feds and fuel filters or seeing MILLIONs of __________) just aint true.

I always found people more believable when they didn't exaggerate. not about technical matters.
its not appropriate when you want to act like or make yourself a subject matter expert.
it really isn't.

6V92TA, Do you have the ability to actually reason on matters? I have been leaving My blood and sweat on power plants for decades, You simply cannot reason outside of Keystrokes... or have the mind set to see disasters form poor decisions. Members and readers, Its impossible to aid anyone with the mind set that believes They have the right to stop a 200 Car Train just because they are on the track Breathing..

Members and Readers , this is just another attempt by someone who cannot keep His Political ties out of this forum.

Now do you have any facts or evidence to provide that will aid Members and Guess's to prolong or protect their investments form fuel contamination?

6V92TA I said Imagine, what part of a fact do You see form the word Imagine?
Imagine.
1.form a mental image or concept of.

2. suppose or assume.

Members and Readers what type of Person would tell someone to spin on a filter that Knowingly knows its possible to curtail fuel 100%. on direct Injection filtration?

1. That person is NOT concerned with the welfare of others that Travel America Roadways.

2. Is just to stupid to figure it out.

I generally don't have much faith in the word of someone who runs a diesel oriented business out of their driveway

I sold all My brick and Mortar, Move My TC Business to mostly My home, For those that Know Me Well Know I have other Businesses ( Obviously Your one of the reason I sold all My stores and Made $$$$$$$$) Do you have any FASS pumps on those Buses? or have You develop and type of system to test filtration? do you have any picture(s)! (Other than a ID Card) of any intellectual property that belongs to You that will aid Your Fellow man?

WOW, are you members impressed with 6V92TA county ID card. I see , Your a legend in your own ID card.

Todd, you sound fly by night to me, believe it or not, back in the day I was trained to use alll the different diesel fuel injection testing equipment they had back in the day.comparitors, spray nozzle testers, all sorts of stuff. almost got a job at Lucas Industries in Troy MI, but turned it down seeing as I didn't want to spend my life in a fuel injection lab... anyway

of course we do drug testing. All employees in safety sensitive positions in the transportation industry are subect to drug testing.
At Miami Dade Transit there are 6 types of drug testing.
Pre Employment
Post Accident
Reasonable Suspicion
Return to Duty
last chance agreement signed your rights way testing

and finally the Federally mandated Random Drug and Alcohol testing mandated by Uncle Sam for all transportation employees in safety sensitive positions.

ASE = A driver license, Possessing a DL does NOT make you a good driver and neither does ASE certifications Make you the Charlie Daniels of the TQ wrench ,its a simple test it only separates the Never should own a wrench to the ones that are qualified to Wrench on rolling dumpsters, It has nothing to do with the skill and knowledge one possess.

Shops and Dealer though out America are laden with the ASE patches that can't replace lug nuts without them flying off.

Another thread ruin by 6V92TA Bigotry, You have NOT added any incite of why the OP does NOT Need FASS, Thanks for verified My address 100Os of Member and owners already new, Your ASE and ID card have No Merit in this thread. In all YOUR ASE faith, is no more then an intellectual exercise that amounts to Horse drooping's, its a multi choice Question and Answers. I'm Not going to drop down to your level of Bigotry that you express in all your comments , You will just beat Me up with your experience.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Guys come on. Restraint.

For real. I've been up since 0400 and just got home after spending all day and evening in the shop putting broken yellow iron back together. I don't want to have to "moderate" another ******* match between mature adults.

Zinga makes good stuff. I use their hydraulic filters a lot. Never their fuel filters tho.

Cheers
Dan C. "Hall Monitor"

oh and since we are comparing:

IFPS MHM expires 2021. lol

I don't believe I have participated in any bigotry on this particular thread, glad to see this place is open for business

Google actually automatically brought up "Aqua Zorb", but still, nothing about filtration, but I certainly didn't put much time into it. I never went beyond the first page.

It makes sense and seems logical about about blocking flow when saturated, it just seems odd that there is actually a law against this, as opposed to simply having an industry standard regarding the design of filters for automotive use.

there is no law.. filtration is the province of the manufacturer.

14 CFR 23.997 - Fuel strainer or filter.
prev | next
§ 23.997 Fuel strainer or filter.
There must be a fuel strainer or filter between the fuel tank outlet and the inlet of either the fuel metering device or an engine driven positive displacement pump, whichever is nearer the fuel tank outlet. This fuel strainer or filter must -

(a) Be accessible for draining and cleaning and must incorporate a screen or element which is easily removable;

(b) Have a sediment trap and drain except that it need not have a drain if the strainer or filter is easily removable for drain purposes;

(c) Be mounted so that its weight is not supported by the connecting lines or by the inlet or outlet connections of the strainer or filter itself, unless adequate strength margins under all loading conditions are provided in the lines and connections; and

(d) Have the capacity (with respect to operating limitations established for the engine) to ensure that engine fuel system functioning is not impaired, with the fuel contaminated to a degree (with respect to particle size and density) that is greater than that established for the engine during its type certification.

(e) In addition, for commuter category airplanes, unless means are provided in the fuel system to prevent the accumulation of ice on the filter, a means must be provided to automatically maintain the fuel flow if ice clogging of the filter occurs.

Common sense law, Any Person or Company that cares about the Safety of America roadways would NOT promote or Sell a Product Knowingly that its ability to render the vehicle engine to be impaired without notice (Warning), shows lack of candor or the welfare and safety of their fellow man. My suggestion to any company or public service provider that employs someone that would endorse a product that opens the door for criminal or civil action be removed ASAP. BEFORE THEY CAUSE HARM OR INJURY.
Zinga has their filter AE line *** Caution DO NOT USE FILTER ELEMENT ON INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENIGINES ****

TC, you said aquazorb and filters like that are "NOT legal". And then when told there is no federal or state law making them illegal, you say it is the law of common sense?

I cited both Laws, 1 legal and 1 civilized.

Also NOT for direct Injection filtration (NOT legal) Also stated bypass or Auxiliary legal.

I cited 14 23.997 in Haste this applies to Aviation.. I will get the correct DOT Hwy Statute.

49. 393.3
The use of additional equipment or accessories in a manner that decreases the safety of operation of a commercial motor vehicle in interstate commerce is prohibited. Nothing contained in this subchapter shall be construed to prohibit the use of additional equipment and accessories, not inconsistent with or prohibited by this subchapter, provided such equipment and accessories do not decrease the safety of operation of the motor vehicles on which they are used.

This is commercial Law Statue Under. MISC it states All power. But I will find the API title.

So far the GOV does NOT want any device or ** filter ** to impede or impair or even decrease the safety of its operation on any plane or commercial vehicle , I think at this point anyone without much effort could convince any Court or Jury in America, that any filter that kills the Engine without warning is civil and/or criminally liable.

Yeah, 14 CFR is aviation.

That's kind of a stretch to take this law and interpret it to mean that type of filter is "illegal". You might as well say this law makes it illegal for tires to fail.

I've always been under the impression that one should leave the meaning of the law to judges and legal decisions already rendered.

to the best of my knowledge there are some legal requirements placed on fuel systems by DOT, FHTSA etc but the Feds surely don't mandate the type of filtration system the OEM uses.. just that it meets certain safety standards.
