Help me BOMB a manlift

I can look around to all my possessions that I own and there is very little that is not bombed, I think this is a disease that cannot be overcome :D

Why cant we be happy with something as it is?

Why do we always want things to be better, faster, stronger ?

Seams everything I own I have an additional 30% tied up into it to get it how I want it.

Are there any support groups that can help me with my problem :confused: I am a sick man and I need your help here boys :{ :{ :{

:D cheers, Kevin:D

Bombing

1 Word, EVERYTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Must say the Dogs Take care of the yard though)

Happy Thanksgiving, Proram

kinda like the 20 hp V-twin go cart I have sitting in the back yard :D? Even the bass boat's been bombed (there's a tongue twister)!

I can't leave anything alone! It's just my nature. Dad hates to borrow anything of mine. He's afraid it'll end up like an episode of home improvement :-laf

I have toned down the bombing on stuff until the ramifications can be thoroughly considered. The reason for this is I darn near have to jog behind my selfpropelled lawnmower. POS was a bit low on ooomph, so what does the genius do? Start tweaking the governor, results were not good so he removed the governor completely in a rather non-surgical method;) . BLAAAAAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, she really screams now!!!!!!! The neighbor asks me what happened to it, so I tried to explain it, he just does not get it:rolleyes:. Time to give it a try:D :D BLAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH, engage the drive and it takes off like a shot, oooops. Did not take into account that the drive is direct, therefor the rotation count of the blade per foot travelled is the same. It did cut the time needed to cut the lawn by a third:D , but I still have the same POS that bogs in heavy grass. In light grass it gets so hot it diesels on for up to 30 seconds after I try to shut it off, the neighbor just shakes his head. Gonna mill the head . 020", and do a little port work with my handy dandy new cordless dremel. That ought to make it work right? POS is gonna either run or burn down so I can go buy one suited to my needs.

Burned down a couple snowmobiles, a motorcycle, and tore the crap out of most everything in my younger years, recently though a snowblower has been the only casualty of my need for more power.

LSMITH - do you have an instructional video on how to port-n-polish the heads on a Briggs and Startton 9 hp snowblower... . :D

I need MO power... :D

I get the award for Snowblower Bomb!

I was getting ready for snow 2 years ago and was using the Shop Vac on blow to get all the crap off of the snowblower, it was stored in the garage. Of course it was running at the time, warming up.

When the hose passed near the intake, the engine speeded up,, hmmmm.

So,,,I put the vac motor, no can, on top of the snowblower, hose to the air cleaner intake, roll of duct tape and pulled out for a test.

WOW! A Blown Snow Blower! And it really powers through the chunky stuff! Doesn't bog down at all!

At 7000' MSL it really makes a difference. Got a Turbo or Blower for a 10HP Briggs anyone??

I had a hell of a time explainin why my gas powered snow blower needed an extension cord though:cool:

Oh oh, you have the genius thinking about doing unholy stuff to his equipment. I can see this working though LOL.

I tried propane induction on the lawnmower too, just taped the bottle to the mower with the torch tip up into the aircleaner intake. Made little or no difference. MAPP gas made it stink and sound like CRAP:--) . Didn't hurt anything that I am aware of, but as soon as I turned the gas on it scared me a little so I shut it off.

That damn mower will die before I am done.

JR2, sorry no video. Although I might just have to produce one when I do the mower, record the carnage. I do know when milling the head on small engines the compression is right when you can't run it on 87 octane, you have to use 93 AND a squirt of 104+ booster:eek:. to keep it from pinging and overheating. Gonna need to drill the jet out a tad if I get the gas powered leafblower hooked up as a huffer on the mower and possibly a milled key to advance the timing a tad to better stand the RPM... ... ... .

A turbo for a snow blower... I might just try it. I like the little 12v huffer... at least on my snowblower. Maybe I could buy 10 of them and use em all on my truck... no more lag:D :D :D

how about a honda 50cc moped that runs on alcohol and nearly doubled its top speed after i was done with it.

in junoir high (pre drivers license) i bought a moped and did some things to it. when i was done it wouldnt idle with the lid on the airbox it needed so much air. i jetted the carb with jets out of an 80cc yamaha, ran it on alcohol from a local service station that sold alky to all the drag racers in town. it would 58mph. it came stock running 35 :D

Illflem that blower thing works on small engines. i put one on my jetski and picked up 3MPH on the top end after sealing the engine compartment so it would actually pressurize it to 3PSI

I always try to get a "Little Extra" out of my things. Have a '55VW with a 1700cc-2 barrel carb. eng, full-synchro trans and 11 inch Porsche drum brakes. Turned up the inj pump on my daughters '85-5 cyl diesel(Thanks to LSMITH).

When I was a kid, My younger brother had this Mini Bike with a 2hp Briggs. It was pretty guttless. I had a can of model airplane fuel, dumped it into the empty gas tank and opened up the main jet screw a few more turns and WOW. I took a Mini bike that I had and my Dad and I mounted a Honda Super 90cc engine in it. 4 speeds and a manual clutch! I commuted to colledge on a '65 Honda sport 50cc. I cut the side cover on the air filter side to scoop the air and ran Castor bean oil in the gas. OH WHAT A SWEET SMELL.

I took a BONE STOCK '64 VW beatle and pulled out the 40hp engine and installed a 110 hp, '65 Porsche SC engine in it... Dual carbs and all. This sucker screamed!

I have always enjoyed making things run a little bit better.

I chambered a . 44 TC S/14 for . 444 Marlin back in '85, everyone thought I was crazy, looked like the Battleship Missouri when you touched one off! Only problem was, . 44 was 1400 fps, . 444 only up to 1800fps... . most powder burned in the fireball, but it looked

Now I got me a . 300WSM TC/Jackson Mod. with a 15", and a 7mmSTW on a 16", sweet!

Whitmore you need h--e--l--p(as if we did not know). Maybe you should come on down to Texas and go through Brown Schools:D I saw your picture standing by that truck(at least you said it was you I don't know)but you looked like this fellow that used to work with us several years ago. And if you are anything like him you do need help.

Everything I own is BOMBed a little. Some things are a lot.

I had a '78 Audi Fox (yeah, I know) that I stuck a '86 GTI 110 hp motor and a Quantum 5 speed into. I cut the springs down and bolted on a set of GTI wheels and front brakes, it was a fun little autocross car until it rusted out too bad. That car would out handle my WS6 Trans Am.

Dirt bikes, motorcycles, bicycles, tools, everything!

Why be stock when you don't have to?

Wife keeps telling me she's gonna send my back there.

Nope. I don't. I love good engineering, I love when things just work right and keep working right with minimum maintenance. Yeah, I'm going to put gauges on Lady J, but that's probably it. Part of it is I don't have the physical strength to do my own work. Part is that I don't know what I'm doing. I'm learning what's what under the hood, but I probably still won't BOMB her.

What I do know down to the chemical is fibers, fabric and stuff like that. Lady J will have custom embroidered detailing towels as soon as I have a good paint sample. And the embroidery won't scratch the paint. That's my version of 'making it better. '
