How many Diesel trucks have you owned?

Power Poll

I have an old friend who's been a diesel mechanic for thirty years. When he saw my truck he smiled and said, "I see you got yer self a rag-burner. "

I was puzzled as to the remark so I asked, "what do you mean?"

He laughed and answered, "hell that Cummins will burn rags when you run outa fuel! He added,"That Cummins... . best damn diesel ever produced!"

I felt this sort of "kudos" from old John was a compliment.

Run Red fuel... . heck ya it'll burn anything:D

From what I have been told at one time ( not too long ago here in Texas ) the red diesel was a high sulfur but not any more because of all the EPA rules and pollution. I just saw on the news Monday that the Houston I. S. D. is now using some new super low sulfur diesel in all of their school buses, probably that California Diesel. Must of been some pretty smart neighbors?????????

I know filtering out the red in the fuel won't work... . so... If someone was to invent a black dye that could be added to the tank to cover up the red there would probably be a pretty good market? :p Wish I paid attention in chemistry class. Any opinions? I know the law says you can't have the red dye but are there any laws stating that you *can't* have any other color? :D :D :D Or how about a brown dye? "Honest Mr. DOT man, I must have a rust problem in my plastic tank... I'll be sure to get it checked out as soon as I get back into town. " ;)

Has anyone has had thier tank checked for red died diesel?? How do they check it when the filler neck has a couple 90 degree bends?? Just curious...
