I am curious if Dodge will up the GVW's for 2006. Just for kicks I recently looked at a 2005 Ford F-350srw crew cab 4X4 with the 6. 0 and it had a GVW of 11,400 pounds. Like I said, this was a single rear wheel truck. Hopefully, Dodge will step up and do something for '06 because it seems they're losing payload capacity for every new generation of truck released.

According to the press release for the MegaCab, a 4X4 3500srw with the Cummins will have a payload of less than 2,200 pounds. This really doesn't cut it for us fifth wheel pullers.

I know the 6. 0 is a lousy engine but Ford is really stepping up to the plate when you figure in the Towcommand controller, payload capacity, upfitter switches, and so on.

I would not get the 6L in the Ford but the new 3 valve V10 is susposed to be awsome, it also comes with the Torqueshift now, if they fixed the trans problems they have been having it would be a pretty nice combination, especially a short bed crew cab, with the price oif diesel and extra cost when you buy it that would be the truck I would buy if I was buying a new truck now.

We have got the annual turn around on diesel here locally. Now $. 10/gallon cheaper than reg unleaded. It's a good thing.

I agree with the original poster that Ford is the only one that seems to be concerned about building a truck! I also hope that DC will also decide that people need more than the current offerings can handle. If you follow the listed MUFG's ratings, its like the Dodge was already at or over capacity when it came out. IE; front max GAWR- tire capacity. It's sad when smaller makes have higher weight ratings.

hey got an 03' cummins with 102k on it and a 05' drw ford 6. 0 and wouldn't trade 10 fords for my dodge. NO POWER, BRAKES ARE AWFUL, dealer says in 06 or 07 that ford is going with a 6. 2 or 6. 3 or so they say. So far they have no fixes for my ford 5,000 miles!!!!!!!
