Competition Dodge 1 OldSchool Chev 0 Fair's Not Fair .... Riiiight?

O. K coming home last night with 2 sleds in an enclosed trailer ..... Nothing much maybee 3200 lbs with gear and tools including trailer. We come down 91 south and a Ford F350 dually Crew comes up next to me and I hear a couple of revs come from the f350 as he OBVIOUSLY had an exhaust  so I look over and give him a nod and he takes off  ooohhh. So he slows down again and this time he gets next to me and I reach down and flick on the box (50 out of 63) and give him a nod I hear him build boost and I lay into it. It was embarrassing I was looking into my mirror to find 350 headlights dropping behind ... fast. So I back out of it and slow down again as I have a trailer to get next to him and he takes off like some kinda teenager darting thru traffic so I let him go. I am sure he was Rippin' pi$$ed that he could not take down a dodge with a trailer at highway speed :-{} Sorry dude :D

Tim,

Reminds me of a few months ago, I was stopped at an intersection when a new Ford crew cab pulled up next to me and started revving his engine. The light went green and he hits it. 1/4 mile after the intersection it goes up a 6% grade for another 1/2 mile. I'm rowing through the gears making my shifts at close to 4000 rpm. I didn't want to speed shift and pop the clutch and have any breakage, so I feathered it and then floored it at each shift. At the top of the hill I was way ahead of him. The catch here is, he was empty and I had a 10'6" camper on the back that I was worried might rip right out of the tiedowns if I hit the throttle any harder. Probably surprised him a bit!

Garry.

Dad was pulling a 5600#+/- horse trailer on his way home in his 92 when a guy in a new chevy tahoe (unladen) started reving at a red light (he said the guy must have seen his gauges on his dash). He said "I steped on it when the light turned green & left him pretty quick off the light & continued to pull away till the next light :) ".

Mom was with him & could not understand why the man gave them an ugly look at the next light. :-laf

Guess the guy couldn't understand how that old diesel outran his new chevy while pulling a trailer.

Allright Waxboy settle down... ... . it's a sort of government test on the uhh umm Direchnectoverniculum degenerative imulsification process. :p

Raced a Honda a couple weeks ago, you know, the usual Fast and Frivolous treatment. Actually looked very nice, lowered, bigger rims, exhaust, body kit, custom paint, nothing "over the edge". Well he definatly had a plugged fuel filter, or some engine work, I was guessin' engine work, 'cause the way this car shined and the guy drivin' looked to be in his upper 20's.

So anyway, I have an enclosed trailer in tow, a little thing about 10'length x 4' wide x 5' tall stuffed full of couches, metal, and a few odds and ends,, I'm guessing 2,000 or so pounds. Well I play with him a bit, and he kinda gets the rolling eyes, smirks and what have you's,, Well it's about 3:00am, I'm driving home to South Texas From Alberqurque (sp?) New Mexico, (This is in Roswell). We stop at a light, he pokes his hamster (revs the motor) and I look over at him,, He motions to go and I decline with a headnod and a wave, well once we roll through the intersection, I'm about 2,000RPM in 2nd gear and he is right next to me,, I look at him and give him the "Go" finger sign (Pointing finger straight up, then forwards) He gets to stabbin' that liitle hamster (aka "Engine/Motor") He pulls just a little on me, then as I'm nearing redline I think,, "I can't lose to Uncle Bens (aka "Rice"), but if I don't powershift, I'll lose, but if I do, I might break. Well, I powershifted to 3rd, and left Uncle Bens Behind,,, I heard him just comin' down on his Hammie, I mean Honda, so I figured,, Race must still be on, so as I neared redline again, I powershifted to 4th and quickly gained 2 car lengths on him (from behind the trailer). I lifted off the "Fuel pedal" and slowed down to the 40MPH speed limit, he came up next to me, (didn't make eye contact like before) checked my truck out and Very Quickly turned off onto a side road.

Man that felt Good, I didn't break, or get caught by the cops,, Whoo-Hoo.

Ahh Merrick you just described a daily thing for me. Being Bridgeport is only a town away it's like living in a Faux~Furious wannabee world arround here ... ... ... ..... and the killin's are easy! Sure some are worthy but FEW at best.

TIRES AND DURAJUNK 2500

Tool man nice tires, I have the same truck color and all and was wondering about that tire size. Do they rub at all in the rear? Any draw backs?

I have owned my truck for 3 years and in that 3 years no one has given me a concern with racing at a light or going down the road, but after I put in the gauges in the pillar they are coming out of the wood work now. I had a 2500 durajunk 4x4 come up next to me and the passenger was laughing when I looked over at him. I rolled down the window and he did the same and he asked how does it run like stock? My reply to him was your mother and he wasn't smiling no more he was pixxxd and he said something to the driver and I left power max on level 4. When the light changed I let him go first but got into it and just went by him. The look on his face told me that I did the right thing to my truck. If people read this then bomb your truck and have fun. I do!!

Hey Scott,

This time I didn't hit white Junct, As I go thru there to my Ol' Man's house in lamoile county. We stayed south of the VT border this time 'round.

ProT, Love 'em and allways used them on every truck I have owned. One draw back is they are Load range D Not E But that never has bothered me and no They don't rub as 01's on up have the proper backspacing to be able to fit the tires correctly.

Jeezus Tapdancing Frankin' Get this ... ... .

This morning the I-95 coridor was completly shut down causing the sidestreets to become a sideshow. Dead Nuts in traffic a 6. 5 ... ..... 6. 5 for gods sakes starts some queer hyjinxs on some of the less travled roads. (I am thinking this guy is kidding) So he keeps on slowing down and mashing the pedal (Tiny pewf of soot) blows out and he goes like hell for 200 feet at best until he allmost a$$ ends a car in front of him for what seemed like 3 back to back runs. I make a right knowing what shortcuts to take to get to a faster road BEFORE HE DOES. So I do so and wait at the stop sighn. Ahhh the moment arrives so I slowly pull out infront of him and act like this big dodge dually is gutless letting traffic escape waay down the road. (Box on high Mash the pedal and ease out of it so you have tons of smoke and no go) I look in the mirror and he is making an OBVIOUS jesture of pointing and laughing. (I reach down and slip it in 4X4) and set the box to 63. WHACK! I turned the sky black and absolutly SLAUGHTER him BAD!!!! We get out to the post road and he starts to come round me and I do the same POINT AND LAUGH manuver that captivated him minutes ago and he gave me the funniest #1 sighn I have seen in a while :p
