Hi all, I have an 08 Charger, yes it's got a hemi, and there is no trans dip stick, just a plug that says only dealer serviceable. I want to service the transmission myself as I don't like/trust others to work on my vehicles. Any advice is appreciated.

Scott

If you like and plan to perform all the service on your Charger why don't you order the factory service manual? I'm sure it describes the procedure for ATF change. It's got to have a fill opening somewhere.

Check out the link below for an aftermarket dipstick. Dont know if this is for your specific application but they should have something for you. The dealer checks fluid with their diagnostics tool. I advise you to do some thorough research on this, from my understanding the fluid level is critical and has to be within a certain temp range to accurately read the level. Also with the sheer properties the correct fluid is essential. There is a reason many went to sealed units, so make sure you do your homework.

Wow, never thought the day would come you needed to order and add a dipstick to a vehicle. This is just crazy.

Ford jumped on the bandwagon 10 years ago or more as well with many of their vehicles. I think the exploder was one of their first.

Yeah, that doesn't make it right tho. Can't even service your own vehicle. I also think I read on here that service manuals went the way of the DO-Do. Is this true also ?

Lol I am sure just from reading this single forum that there are many people that should not attempt a trans svc

The Charger trans level is specific to temp. How many DIY guys are aware of that????
