Does anybody have the article that was in one of the diesel magazines about 5-6 months ago where they compared all the trucks. I have a idiot at work that brought in an article from popular mechanics magazine where they compared the dually dodge, dually ford, and a single rear wheel gmc. Well of course since they don't know anything about diesels they picked the gmc. So I need to find the article where they picked the dodge. If anybody has it I would appreciate knowing what issure it came out of.

Popular Mechanic and other magazines alway pick the truck that spends the most money in their advertising. It's called human nature, I'd do the same thing.

Don't believe everything you read!

an article from popular mechanics magazine

Isn't it great when people use PM or Popular Science as reference material?

Personally, I don't care what my friends or anyone else buys or drives.

Amen to that! As I always say, I prefer to own things that few other people own. Makes me feel all special.

Last time someone started telling me what a piece of crap Dodge trucks are, I simply nodded my head and said, "yeah, you're probably right. "

I've come to the conclusion that there's almost never any point in arguing, because you will never change anyone's opinion about anything. [Or maybe all my opinions are just wrong?:-laf]

I feel the same way.

Everyone chooses what they feel works the best for their situation.

What gripes the heck out of me is when they do the comparison articles, they never have the same gearing in the trucks.

How can anyone get a comparison if one truck has a 4. 11 rear and the others have a 3. 73??

Iv never been able to figure that out.

I know thats what I want to show them that if you actually look anywhere that knows something about diesels they pick the dodge, they think that just cause it has an allison its the best thing in the world.

Usually the magazines try to get equal match ups but they only can test what the manufacturers bring them. Most of the tests usually explain this as the reasoning for shortbed, single rears wheels mixed with duallys or differnt gear ratios. The mag I was reading last night the Ford won. I just read them with a grain of salt and laugh at some of the reasonings.

I never give recomendations to my friends on what to buy. For example in the last couple of weeks. I often wonder why someone with a sixty mile commutte each way, nothing to tow, nothing to haul except a bicyle thinks he needs a fully loaded F350 crewcab, diesel. :D And then complains about the cost of diesel.

Mopartech: I read the article that you are talking about & I beleve it was in Diesel Power mag about 6 months ago. They liked the Chevy best for ride & handleing & Dodge came in second but they said that the Dodge Cummins was by far the best thuck for pulling & the Ford was out in left field. I buy a truck for pulling!!

You know... ... . Its a kinda funny to me. I have friends who own Durapukes and Powerchokes and they all think its cool when they ride in my Cummins. For instance this coming weekend we are making a yearly trek to Talladega for the races and they all want to ride in my truck. Even after I make them split the bill for the fuel (thats another story) and sahring the driving responsibilities, the CUMMINS still wins
