Yep, that's the way it's always been - nothing has changed. I do know of some cases of individual shops having worked out something with an individual dealer but those have always been the rare exceptions.

funny, you ask a cummins repair shop if they are allowed to do warranty work on Dodge trucks with cummins engines in them and they will say yes.

They have a list of steps printed up that they have to follow with I assumed DC

Others on this board have had warranty work done at cummins dealers. It's where I got the idea. Or, I mis-understood. I often do... over 50 disease.

I agree with miller. Wouldnt it be cool to get our trucks with NO WARANTY! And get maybe 2or3K$ for giving up the warranty.

Those diagnostic fees are BS, Its just another way to rip off people

And, indeed they are - after Dodge has referred the job to them and/or approved it.

unfortunate

too bad.

That sounds about right.

Monday morning, the local diesel/cummins shop who has an excellent reputation was able to get right on it. Unfortunately when he called, he was told that DC wanted to work on it first.

When I called though, DC said the closest appointment I could get was Wednesday. Now who wants to drive one of these trucks around for 3 days with zero fuel pressure? And then I could never get a straight answer. Was the pump covered if it was bad. Just flat refused to answer the question even though I asked several times.

The Cummins shop was offering much better service, which small business' more often do. Large corporations just suck.
