I concede the cummins is the best pickup diesel. But look at the rest of the package. DOdge has thin sheet metal, a thin frame, cheezy seats, and paint that peels if you look at it wrong. I went with the ford, based on the entire package, not the motor.

Luke,
I think one of the reasons you see so many Heavy Duty Fords on the roads and in the parking lots of the good ol USA is because most Ford dealers have a host of Pick ups in stock. My dealer Flemington Dodge has a Ford dealer across the street. Their Ford dealer has over 30 Ford Heavy Duties in stock almost all with the Powerstroke with just about every color and option you can imagine. My Dodge dealer across the street had only 4 heavy duties and 1 had the Cummins. Dodge dealer told me they can't keep the Cummins on the lot and if you want one with your options you must order it. Thats what I did and waited over 2 months. If I wanted a Ford I could have driven one out same day. Ford manufactures much more trucks than Dodge and they make it very easy to buy one since most dealer I've seen stock plenty of them.
I agree that the Cummins is the best Pick up on market and that the Fords have better sheet metal and paint for sure. Heck, I just came out of a 2001 F350 Powerstroke( see pic on other page) and understand exactly what you mean, but I still love my '05 Cummins and hope I have as good of luck with it as I did my past 2 Fords.
Best of luck with your new Ford,
