Are we "Over-revving" our engine?

Cummins ISL

Anybody know what happens to these trucks when the new year comes around. Several years ago the Dodge dealer in town had a couple of them. So do they sell them or what. I'd love to have one of those things.

Just saw a red one actually pulling an eight horse slant load in Elko, NV a couple of weekends ago. A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

We were fueling up at a station which was packed because diesel was 2. 16 instead of 2. 30-2. 46 like everywhere else.

They had one down here in Wentzville, Mo for a while. Had a gear vendor overdrive, and a factory exhaust brake on it. Really nice truck. I looked at it for a guy up in Wisconsin, don't really know what ever happened to it. But it was a sweet truck. Maybe contact the PBR or somebody.

I think they actually give them away, I entered to win a couple times ;) no luck yet though. They drive them around to sponsored events through the year, and people that attend can enter to win it, then at the NFR I think, or something towards the end of the year they draw the winner.

There are quite a few of them around here. They have a building outside of Ottuwma and every once in a while there are about 10 of them. I think the guys that are driving these are the pickup men for the PRCA events around here. As far as contacting pbr, they are sponsered by ferd. I'd like to go to the NFR, but I never have the time or the money. I'd rather make it there, but I better cover a hell of a lot more broncs!

By the time the guys that drive these trucks are done with them, they have racked up the miles. Most of these miles while towing heavy loads. The guys with drivers that are on the road all year long go through a few trucks before the year is over.

When they are done with them, it seems like they get debadged of most of the rodeo emblems and resold. I don't think they want everyone to be able to drive around in sponsor trucks.

Each year the winners at the DNCFR (Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo) get free trucks. I'm not sure what kind of deal is worked out with the rest of the rodeo personel that drive them. They are probably sponsored or get a nice discount.

Last year during NFR they had the free truck giveaway for the one millionth Cummins engine rig. Not sure if they are doing another truck giveaway this year or not. Guess I'll find out when we're at the NFR in a couple weeks.

Each year, Dodge will give all the PRCA year end champions a years use of a 1 ton. They used to only let them have it for a year. This is how it used to be, however, they may let them have the truck now as long as the sponsor decals stay with the truck.
