Thanks, rubberneck, I remember. Was just joking around, made that comment off the top of my head, playing for laughs. Good point to bring out, for others that might not think of it. "Valet mode" ? That's one way.

Of course, with DD3's, the truck still flat hauls like crazy. Hope I've taught the kid well.

LOL@EShaw !!! Gotta love it ... . fiancee/truck, truck wins hands down ;) .

I've been married for all of 9 years now, stopped asking my wife for input on what I drive 8 years ago. My wife drove my truck all of one time and she has very little interest in ever driving it again. The 6" stack put her over the edge for sure. That's fine with me as the only people I am comfortable with in the pilots seat are myself and the guys at A. W. D.

That being said, my wife is very understanding with my needs as a mad BOMBer  .

My wife drives it anywhere and everywhere she wants, she drives it hard too. Like rubberneck said SPA rocks, I never knew you needed 30 PSI between here and the mall:eek: . She won't admit that she loves driving it, but she takes it everywhere she can. It is kinda funny to get reamed for having taken the box off and being told that it is a "pig" and "is no fun without it".

It is just a truck, no more and they make new ones every day. I really don't care who drives it as long as I know they are not going to intentionally beat the snot out of it.

Has your wife ever said that the same car was next to her at the light (lowriding big pipe ricer type) for about 3 lights in a row and "I think he was trying to race me because he kept sqealing the tires and revving way up, but he didn't have a prayer!! I never saw him again till the next light!!":--)

My wife pulls the travel trailer sometimes. She likes to drive it empty, too. She leaves pulling the trailer in city traffic or backing up to me though.

I don't mind her driving the truck, she just doesn't like it too much. She spends a lot of time downtown for work, so her car is MUCH easier to handle and park. As far as the truck goes, I taught her how to drive a manual trans, and our first few cars together were sticks, so she's pretty good... and she knows how anal I am about ALL of our vehicles, so she's real good with them (at least while she's around me!)

I married a rancher's daughter who grew up driving 3/4 and 1 ton diesel manual trucks pulling stock trailers. So when we trade off our old tonner ford for the dodge guess who got the new vehicle! I do the fixing so I got the old car to drive to work! What hurts even worse, it's a ford! She loves the Dodge and always lets me drive it when we are together. Marriage is a sacrifice sometimes but she is always worth it. If you feel sorry for me I will take donations for another cummins!

She does just fine.

She had no problems driving mine to work, long trips when I want to sleep, or no problems parking it anywhere.

Now that she has her own, she loves the power alot and has even been suckered into moving a couple of here friends. :D Yup, she can lay into the power pretty good too... She can do a burnout that'd put most of you guys to shame. :p

tmpenner,

Now SHE"S a keeper ! :D As far as donations for your cause... ... As soon as the donation goal for my bombs are met I'll divert the overflow to you!

She was backing the old girl down the drive and hit the snow plow on my other truck! Needless to say that she does not drive the truck any more!

My wife can drive the Ram any time she wants. Although it's a great truck, that's exactly what it is - a great truck. It will probably get scratched, bent and/or broken, and if she does it instead of me, oh-well. I learned a long time ago to not sweat the petty things and not pet the sweaty things. My wife is number 2 (God is number 1) - the Ram and car are both somewhat lower on the importance list. ;)

Mine has 39,000 on it and wifey has never drove her. She says she could in an emergency but she don't drive standards and acts like she don't want to learn, Says if something goes wrong she don't want it to be her fault.

My wife drive the dually anytime. She does just fine. Through the years I've had her driving all sorts of stuff. From my 77 Power Wagon ext cab long box that was lifted and had 38's, She drove that over a hood of an Escort coming out of a parking spot. It was a bummer but we all make mistakes. She drives tractor and does a little raking when I need her to, has drag raced, ran my dozer and loves riding wheeler.

Marriage is a partnership, what mine is her's and what's hers is mine. (I get to buy better stuff) She is much more important that a pickup. (Plus a pickup can't wash my underwear) Just kidding Dear, please put the frying pan away.

Gotta go,

Wayne

My wife is only 5-ft tall and I get a real kick watching her leap out of the cab when she gets home. She rows through the gears just as well as anyone. She teaches grade school and says that the kids all give her the "thumbs-up" when she brings it to school. However, ever since I got her a Durango, she seems to have lost interest in the Ram (she complained a little about the rear fenders).

My wife used to drive my 92 CTD all the time, She has never driven my 99. She is more than welcome, it's our truck. Ken

I applaude you guys that don't even bat an eye at having your spouse drive the truck. I think you probably have evaluated your spouses driving ability and feel comfortable. I had evaluated my fiance's... ..... EX-fiance's driving ability over a period of 6 years and concluded that she's a HORRIBLE driver. Accident after accident her parents have her car on their policy for the past 3. 5 years because her rates were through the roof. Tailgating (drafting) I prefer to call it was taken to the edge... ... . I definately couldn't sleep while she was driving... ... I didn't even want to be a passenger, but I was in charge of pullin' the chute for those fast stops. When I know what I know it would have been a crime in progress to let her drive that truck. I know this sounds like a real fish tale but it's really true.

Note to self... ... ... Next girl friend/potential spouse must like big loud trucks and be able to drive it like a pro... ... . maybe even own a truck herself... ... along with all the pre existing criteria of course... ... Don't worry boys I'll teach her how to park... . WaaaaWaaaaWaaaa

My wife driving the truck dont bother me really. I'm more worried about the other drivers, rather than her driving. When we have the camper on, that's another story. She's a little used to her mazda 626. I think lane changes would be the most interesting. :D

She drove my tractor trailer when I was an owner operator, so I know she can "handle it".

I WILL NOT let her drive it if she's going shopping. She is one of those that have to have the parking spot next to the door, at ALL costs.

Whenever she does drive it, she always says that she loves the POWER!!

I think it would be a problem for her if it had manual steering, otherwise, no problem.

Well, Honestly I was a little nervous of her getting behind the wheel of my truck her first time, but hey she drove through tight corners in town and never curbed a tire, or slapped a mirror. Looks kind of cute at a petite 5'1" wheeling around town and even gets thumbs up from other guys watch her navigate through tight situations. Although she rarely drives it I have complete faith in her abilities when she gets behind the wheel. We even took a Dually club cab 5spd 4x4 for a test drive, and I hate to admit it but, she did better than I did at shifting it!!! (I guess Diesel trucks don't shift like hemi 4spds)
